@AnaA:  It would be possible to stack the books so they stand like that. It would take several people and the right sized books. It would be much easier to use something to hold them together.

Possibly a long piece of wire threaded through all the books (*shakes head* ruining books…)

@AnaA:  ah guilty, I coveted this when I thought I wanted a literary wedding!  I think they had a decor company make it (Lola Event Floral & Design) it breaks my heart that all the books would have to be destroyed though:/ still gorgeous.  ah your post made me crave one all over again:)

@AnaA:  if you figure out a way, let me know!  maybe you can do two tall book stacks on either side, somehow joined in the middle (maybe with a tulle or bunting)?

@AnaA:  Yeah. FI and I are having a book themed wedding and if we weren’t getting married in a church I would love to do this!

@AnaA:  Yea, you could use glue but that might make it risky. I’d hate for the books to fall apart on you! You might try, as another person suggested, to string a wire through the books. You’d have to use something to hollow out holes in the right places and then some sort of end piece to hold it together?

I’d just go down to a local builder. Surely, there’s a contractor in your area that would explain how you might go about it.

You should totally go for this theme though!

Check these out as possible decorations!

I would def glue them together. I know it’s hard to ruin books but it’s a safety hazard otherwise! What if her dress brushed the tower when she turned around? “I now pronounce you…WATCH OUT!!!”

@AnaA:  that looks nice!  don’t know about the purple things on the sides though.  and you’d have to build it right on the spot if you don’t want to use glue.

ah this thread is making me want a bookish wedding all over again!

In LA there is a bookstore called The Last Great Bookstore and on the second floor they have all sorts of architectural pieces made of books.  This is the barrel of books that I absolutely love!

Love these ideas. I’m doing books in my centerpieces. 🙂
