We don’t have a VENUE! We have been engaged since November and our “coordinator” screwed us, so we essentially lost 2 months of planning time. Scrambling to find a venue has been hell. We’ve found a place we like, just working out the details now, so hopefully by this time next week, it will be set in stone and we can start booking the rest of our vendors and working on our STDs.

I do have my dress and FI’s wedding ring, though. 😉

@chronicwhimsy:  I’m suppose to be hard core losing weight and being a fat bum… Meh…. And i need to lose at least 60 lbs to feel comfortable…. No motivation… It’s not like I’m getting MARRIED or something… Lol.

On a good note, save the dates are out and invites have arrived. I have preliminary ( almost positive) photog, florist and cake place:)

Mmmm…. Cake… DOH!

Shopped for dresses at 4 different shops and I think I finally found the one today!!! I’m not a very “feely” type of person so I didn’t really have a ~moment~ but all things said and done, I am very happy with the last dress I tried on. It’s the Watters Devenport and it’s been around for a while but the stock pictures I’ve seen of it don’t convey how great it is IRL. I’ve tried on a few that have the same silhouette but the Dev has much better quality IMO and the silk organza is super lightweight which I love, especially for our beach elopement. Just need to bite the bullet and figure out how to pay for it now! Innocent

@chronicwhimsy:  most things are booked, but we still haven’t started the save the dates! I also can’t seem to narrow down centrepiece ideas, but my wonderful sister who is my MOH, is going to mock up some designs this weekend, to help me figure it out.

My wedding recently went from a backyard almost entirely DIY wedding to a more typical wedding with venue, caterer, etc. All within a month. Its was weird lol. But all good changes that i feel great about. Our venue is a newly renovated beautiful barn venue opening this year about 7 minutes from my house. I spent a few weeks figuring out the cheapest catering since that wasn’t originally built into our budget. Being the relaxed awesome people we are, the caterer is a local sports bar/italian place. We’re totally having pizza and beer(among other things). Photographer i booked as soon as we got engaged back in September. Also canned apple butter for favors right away. And my dress i ordered in November i think, its in now but i haven’t picked it up yet. Rings i ordered in December and have them safely tucked away.

Still have to figure out flowers, get the stuff for centerpieces, try on bridesmaid dresses and find a flower girl dress i like.

And fill the iPod with our music.

I have planned, second guessed and replanned at least twice.  I have almost everything figured out (for now!) except shoes and I have only dabbled a little in what the guys will be wearing.  I am horribly indecisive and this is the biggest challenge of my life!  This is also my second wedding, so you’d think I’d be better at it this time, but last time was really no-frills, and this time I am trying to make it more meaningful, so it’s a bit…no a LOT more complicated.  I notice I keep going back to my original ideas, so maybe I’ve come full circle!Smile

@chronicwhimsy:  I mailed out my save the dates this week!! I was planning to mail them in March but several people have asked about them so I figured I would just send ’em now and get that done. Other then that most of my major things are good to go- venue/ceremony is booked, menu basically finalized, photog and DJ are booked, favors are done just need to be assembled. I started inquiries with a cake baker but nothing final yet on that. My dress will be in end of March, bridesmaid dress shopping appt is set for April 12. I still feel like I have a million little details to tie up (music selections, finalize vows, wedding bands, make hair/makeup appt etc-) but I find that I just have to do a few things here and there and then take a break from wedding planning for a week or so I can maintain my sanity!

Most of the big things are booked :): Venue, Caterer, Officiant, Photographer, Florist,

Some things are really close to being booked: DJ/Lighting

A bit of the attire has been ordered: Bridal Dress, garter, veil, bridesmaid dresses

A few things have been started: Save the dates are completed (Just need to send them), Bought 50 coffee mugs for favours (need 50 more)

A few things have been bought/collected: Canvas for guests to sign, ring bearer pillows, some decorations from PartyCity, Cake topper/Cake stand

I feel like there is still so much to do, but I feel pretty good about my progress thus far, my next immediate steps: Buying envelopes, buying 50 coffee mugs, mailing save the dates, making favours.

We can do it Bees! 7-8 months to go!!
