Booked our photographer-does this sound like a reasonably priced package?

crisy003:  Who chooses the images for the album?  Do you get a disc of all your images, with printing rights (for personal use)?

That seems to be reasonable.  I think that’s an average price for a good photographer anyway but the album included in that price is awesome!  Some photogrpahers always add that on the side and it’s like an extra $300 so that’s great!  make sure about the disc though but usually photographers include that anyway.

If a disc is included it’s very reasonable.

crisy003:  I am looking at one that is $3500, including engagment shoot and all day wedding coverage with another photographer. She does not print the photos but you get a USB with about 800 finished pics and an online gallery for friends & family. It is definitely on the deeper end of the expense pool but I really liked her artsy portrait shots.

Is there a second shooter to capture some things from another point of view?  That’s something I would consider a plus.  Also for me, a disk with all the high-resolution images was a non-negotiable.

If your quote included these things I would say this is a reasonanble price.

That seems like a great deal for all those items. I would check if there’s an extra fee to have a larger collection of photos on a disc that you have permission to print elsewhere. If you like the style and photographer i say go for it

crisy003:  How many hours do you have her for and is there an assistant? If no assitant and less than 12 hours, I don’t think it’s a good deal.

crisy003:  At $3100 I wuold want all my images on disk.  I’d forgo any prints or albums.  You cane make your own prints and albums economically with full resolution files of all the pictures.

That sounds about right… I will be firing my technical photographer shortly. He is new, he offers poor communication and is unreliable. BUT due to this situation, I am booking a new one. I may end up posting about this. Anyway, the new one has a $3,000 package that includes many of the things that you stated you will get for the price. Albums are expensive because they are apparently quite a lot of work to make. Definitely double check on the disk. I am getting all pics on a disc and unlimited access to my pictures forever. I can get an album from him next year when finances are more stable. The new photographer said that he will tell me where to go to get good prints for a fraction of what they would cost (he said NOT to go to Walmart ). As long as there is a way for you to access your pics later, it sounds awesome. I am looking forward to checking out the pics if you do a recap!
