Weddingbee boards

:D We booked the reception venue this afternoon, putting down $300 deposit, for 8 hours from 2.30 pm to 12.30pm. We plan to welcome in the new year and then take off to honeymoon, letting reception guests continue on to their new years celebrations.
Now to choose between 4 menus for sit down 3 course meal, beer, wine and soft drinks, cheese platters and coffee/tea.
We went to a friends wedding there last year and thought it was lovely.
Pleasantly suprised that we can have the room for New Years eve this year.
Have to estimate guest numbers and choose the menu within two weeks.

We decided to shorten the reception to 4pm to 10:30pm, our ceremony is in gardens at the venue at 3pm, and will only take about 25-30 minutes, so guests will go straight to the reception room, and entrees will start at 5pm, with the main meal starting at 6pm. We thought that it is a long day for everyone, and at the end of the night we can join the New Years festivities with the general population at the other areas of the venue and any guests who can handle partying on, and the older family crowd wont feel guilty for leaving at the end of the wedding if they wish! Im guessing the staff at our reception might be more cheerful too if they know they can leave and go to their own New Years celebrations before the clock ticks over.

We wanted an early ceremony, as we are both the same, we wont sleep the night before and waiting all day for it all to start will drive us both crazy. It is certainly making things easier having the ceremony, reception and our hotel suite all in the one location. We are staying for the wedding night and heading on to travel for 3 weeks after that.
