Nati (love your name btw)
congratulations! I got married at Linden Place in Aug 09 and absolutely loved it- we had mostly out of town guests too, and I think they really felt it was a mini vacation during our wedding weekend. We were in love with Linden from the second we saw it- and we really loved all of our vendors- let me know if you want to talk about any of them- I highly recommend every single one of them (they are listed in no particular order):
Day of Coordinator: Coleen Kimmell of NE Classic Weddings
Photos: Mariah from Snap! Photography in RI
Florist: Lee from Merriweather's Florist in Raynham MA (breathtaking work!)
Caterer: Peter and Janet from Simply Devine Catering, RI
DJ: Susanne from Moondance Productions, RI
Officiant: Michael Kelliher from Weddings by the Sea, RI
Video: Michelle McNamara with Fresh Focus Productions
Hair: New Leaf Salon, Bristol
Makeup: Chantelle Ambroise, MA
String Musicians: Allegro Chamber Players, Swansea MA
Dress: New York Lace, Taunton MA
Veil:Occansey Designs
Hair Flower: Portobello on Etsy
Let me know if you want to talk more! Congrats on having found a place!
Feebee,
Thanks for the vendor suggestions! I will definitely look into these. I've already contacted Allegro Chamber Players, I would love to walk down to "Ave Maria" and walk out to "All you need is love"!
I've also contacted New Leaf Salon and hope they can fit us in. May I ask why you had two different vendors for hair and makeup? Did you feel the stylist at New Leaf weren't able to deliver what you needed?
Thanks for the info!
Hi Nati
Allegro was so good- they could play anything- we had them stay for our cocktail hour and people loved them.
The only reason we went with a separate makeup person is that Chantal is that I knew I wanted Chantal to do my makeup even before I found New Leaf- I really truly love her style of doing makeup, so I wanted to have her that day. I think the girls at New Leaf will do a great job on makeup if you wanted to have it done there- they (Courtney and Leah were the main ones I interacted with) are so sweet.
I am not sure if you've seen it, but New Leaf has a roon downstairs where your bridal party can hang out- check out the following and search on "New Leaf"
Hi!
I got married in Bristol too -- at Blithewold. Let me know if I can help with any vendor suggestions or area info too.
All the best,
Heather
@Feebee: We booked SNAP! I'm so excited!! FI and I really love the work they do. We also got their photobooth option, can't wait to see the photos our guests capture.
@Feebee and @marumidawg: Any DJ suggestions?? I want someone who can get guests and keep guests on the dance floor.
I attended a wedding their last month. It was beautiful. I second Feebee's rec for New Leaf Salon - I have been there before and it is really a great place! So professional, nice and clean! I can ask my friend who she got for catering but CONGRATS it was such a great venue!
Hi there,
I just booked Linden place for May 2013 and my fiance and I are super excited. Both moms cried as soon as they saw it
.
Who did you go with for catering?
Thanks!
@KatieD52413 We went with Glorious Affairs and they were absolutely wonderful! Everyone commented on the great food and service.

Since most of my planning will most likely have to be done before October 2010 (possible 6mths deployment), FI and I jumped on the planning wagon ASAP and went home during the Memorial Day weekend to take a look at Rhode Island and Cape Cod venues.
We looked everywhere! And we decided on LINDEN PLACE! It is simply beautiful and the historic home will definitely keep our family and friends entertained during the cocktail hour. Many of our guests are history buffs and this place is filled with it!
Another thing we absolutely loved was the town of Bristol. Talk about a historical New England Town! Everything is a block away from the venue (hotel our guests will likely use, bridal party hair and make-up salon we want to use, venue for rehearsal dinner we want, and the water!!) The majority of our guests will be from out-of-town so its great that they don't have to rent a car in order to get around.
One little downside is that we had to move the date from July 4th weekend to Memorial day weekend. We think a 4-day holiday weekend will be best for our out-of-towners and in July they were only available for July 2nd, a Saturday... Our new date May 29th, 2011, will be kind of tight for me. I'll probably deploy 1OCT return 1April....But the venue coordinator was able to assure me I would be able to get alot done via email and before deploying and she'd coordinate details with our vendors. I'm also a crazy multi-tasker, I'm up for the challenge!
FI and I are going back home in late June when we're hopefully meeting with photographer, florist, caterer, baker, and any other vendor I can fit in a weekend. :)
I'm in full wedding planning mode! I'm so excited!
Any vendor suggests from RI or MA brides?
