How far in advance did you book your make up? My sister in law is doing my hair so she was pretty much booked the day I got engaged. My mom said she would take care of booking the make up. However, I have just over 8 months left and she thinks it is still too early.
When did you guys do it?

I didn’t pay the deposit for mine until about 4 months out but I started doing the research around 6 months. Especially if you are on a budget, it may take some time to find one that is both good and inexpensive.

My wedding is in 6 months and I just sent my deposit in for hair and make-up this week. And my wedding is on a holiday. Despite that, and despite it being a popular salon, they weren’t booked up yet. Since you are at 8 months, you might want to start looking around and deciding on who you might want to do your makeup, but you probably don’t need to book yet. Since you have plenty of time, I’d really do your research so you can feel confident in your decision. If I would have booked mine a couple months ago, I would have went with a different salon because I hadn’t even heard of the one I actually went with yet! I ended up finding an awesome place where my girls and I will have the salon to ourselves and it’s a great price. Good luck!

Do it as soon as you can! I waited til about 4 months out, thinking I had PLENTY of time – and 90% of the people that were on the top of my list to contact were already booked.

I booked 6 months out and had no problem.

I booked about 8-9 months out, just to make sure I could get the artist I really wanted. I think the sooner, the better!

I booked 7 months out, and my top 3 people were all booked. Do it as soon as possible!
