We’ve taken cruises out of Port Carnival and then gone to Disney after–it’s a REALLY fun trip! We like seeing multiple islands/cities, though!

Orlando bee, here! Love Disney. 🙂

Florida actually has lots of great beaches- St. Petersburg and Destin come to mind, but if you’re looking for something more ‘exotic,’ I second the cruise idea.

We have TONS of cruises that leave out of Port Canaveral from just about any cruise line you could imagine. And of course with cruises your meals and stuff are covered. And cruises can be REALLY, REALLY cheap depending on the time of year.

If you’re interested in St. Lucia– DH and I honeymooned at Sandals La Toc there and LOVED it. Highly recommend. 😉

@FutureMrsT1221:  Oh, yeah! Stick to the adults-only pool (or better yet, an adults-only cruise!)

Then have room service for breakfast (it’s free), and you can request to sit by yourself at dinner!

Most of your days will be taken up by stuff on the shore and sunbathing and all you can eat 24-hour food!

@FutureMrsT1221:  I think that Sandals would be somewhere within your budget. I think it was about $5k for DH and I to honeymoon there, but I think September (I assume you’re getting married in September?) might be more of an ‘off-season’ than March.

The REALLY nice Sandals resort there is the The Grande, but if you stay at any of the 3 Sandals resorts on the island (Grande, La Toc, and Halcyon) there is free transportation between all three resorts.

@FutureMrsT1221:

I know you didnt ask me but I would go with Royal Caribbean. They cater to adults and they have 4 day cruises to Bahamas and Key west. Cruises and Disney my two favorite things

Travel Nut here…

$ 4000 is a good sized budget for a cruise… you could do something really awesome for that amount of money (7 Nights, Premium Balcony, AI Booze Package, Excursions, Photos… all Taxes & Grats in)

Nothing as pampering as a cruise vacation… best of all worlds.

Affordable, you unpack once, the world comes to you… etc

As others have said there are Disney Cruises…

Disney Cruises tend to have a lot of kids aboard, not my idea of a Romantic Honeymoon… but whatever floats YOUR boat as they say.

There are lots of other cruise lines… Carnival (meh) – Norwegian – Royal Caribbean… good for young couples (and families)

OR Celebrity or Princess which are a tad more high end (age range is 40 to 70) and does attract some younger couples who are Honeymooning and want a more posh experience

When it comes to cruises, you could look at a port intensive one or for one that spends more time at sea (Sea Days are great for R&R).  Caribbean Ports of Call mean you could still do a lot of awesome things ashore.

IMO it is hard to find a better Honeymoon than a cruise… cause of the value and the variety of experiences you get for your money.

Hope this helps,

I should add…

Disney used to have a combo holiday… Disney Cruise & Resort… you might want to check their website(s) to see if that still exists

AND as others have said, Florida on its own (without the Caribbean component) is AWESOME too.

Altho December can be a tad chilly for Northern Florida sometimes… you’d want to be SOUTH of Fort Meyers / Naples / Fort Lauderdale for truly warm weather (70+ F) … and if you want HOT and the Caribbean feel without the expense then maybe look at The Florida Keys (80+ F)

Lots of options… if you need more help just ask, I’d be glad to help
