At my old job I flew a lot…. plus I got a fancy airline card so I now have a good amount of miles. This is awesome and I want to use them for our flights to help make the honeymoon more fabulous (and cheaper!)
so I decided to take a little peak tonight and well I noticed that first class award tickets are only like 20,000 mile more than coach…and well first class is awesome! How nice would it be to spend those long flights together in our own little pod things (ok truth be told all of my first class visits have been pretty uneventful but it seems a lot more comfy and luxurious than being stuffed into coach for a 14 hr flight)
the draw back? they get scooped up super quick and since the airline schedule comes out like 10 m ahead of time we would have to be ready to book with in like 3 weeks….now we wouldn’t need every detail of honeymoon planned/booked but we would need the airport to fly in/out of…
would you just get on honeymoon planning ASAP or just let it go and figure it out later even though that 95% means coach (which is still great… I mean going on anytrip for free is awesome)

@littlemisshostess: First class!!! Especially any flight more than 6 hours. It’s your honeymoon, you only do it once!!
You can figure out hotels later 🙂

I would say first class as well. We flew business class to South Africa earlier this year and it was so worth it!
As long as you have the general idea of timing that would work, you can figure out the details later!

- Wedding: November 2012 - Oak Tree Manor
Plan it now and enjoy the first class! We booked our honeymoon 6 months ago, and now that the wedding is approaching I’m so glad we don’t have to deal with any of the honeymoon logistics. Book it now, get it out of the way, and fly in style 🙂

We did that! Stalked the airlines for the first second we could book – so like 320 days out or whatever. It took a lot of advance planning, but our 40+ hours of flying to / from Africa for our honeymoon in private pods with great food and wine made it SO worth it!
