My FI and I are avid readers and are thinking of giving silver metal heart shaped bookmarks as favors. We really want to give something that represents who we are as well as something our guests will use. What do you think?

@senta82: I really like the idea. Creative and useful!

We had ones shaped like musical notes. We both loved the idea and I guess others did too since there weren’t a ton lying around afterwards…lol
Here is the site we ordered from. They might have cheaper pricing….

I love a good bookmark, as does the rest of my family. One thing I would do is not plaster your names/wedding date all over them (because that makes them less universally useful), and instead just pick a pretty design/motif. I think it’s a great idea!

….I’m not a big fan, I’ve seen them before at a wedding

One of the few “things” that I would actually take home with me.

I’m not sure, don’t people read Nooks and Kindles now adays?

I would love this… I agree with a PP about not putting a wedding date or names on
em. the heart shape sounds great!

I quite like the idea but I would have two designs. I’m not saying no men like love hearts, but it’s a more feminine design. I can’t imagine any of my male friends taking a bookmark with a heart on it.

Great idea! Creative and represents the two of you.

that’s a good suggestion. I didn’t even think about that.

I would love it, but my family and my FI’s family are definately not readersa couple are, but a lot are not so I dont think we could get away with it. But if you know your family would love it, then go for it!

Thanks ladies. I don’t think we will put our names on the actual bookmark. The ones I looked at come in a gift box with a bow and I was thinking of putting a sticker or tag on the box with our names and the date.

As for the nook and kindle users, I use iBooks but I still enjoy curling up with an actual book so I don’t know. Do you have any other suggestions?
