hmm, do you mean fiction books that you could both read? or along the lines of cookbooks, household tips, etc? I'm by no means religious, but really enjoyed The Love Dare, crockpot cookbooks are always great, and I received a cookbook from my shower, The 4 Ingredient Cookbook, that is awesome!
Cookbooks maybe? (slowcooker, fun desserts, etc)
Or maybe pick a series you two can read together? (DH and I started reading the Song of Ice and Fire series on the honeymoon)
**edit** I did hear the Love Dare is great, so second PP
@sorrycharlie: Ooh the Love Dare, good one. Yeah probably more along the lines of helpful books rather than fun/fiction. Cookbooks would be good. Maybe like fun books for entertaining, like cocktail recipes or something.
@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: That's a good idea too! We haven't really read books together yet, but I always thought that would be fun.
if you haven't read the outlander series, i highly recommend it.

How to Cook Everything, or How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, both by Mark Bittman.
The New Basics Cookbook
The Cake Bible
If there's something the two of you want to learn together (a language, a skill) you could ask for a beginner's guide.
Slow Cooker Revlution has very unique recipes and most are super easy to make too. I also recommend Martha Stewarts Housekeeping Handbook. Soo many useful things in there.
As far as general reads, I am currently addicted to the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. It is what the show True Blood is based off of.
The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman
edit:
I think registering for books is a great idea :)
Bahaha AWESOME. I'm so secretly hoping that people get us stuff like that, too bad Grandma probably wouldn't approve of seeing it on the registry. LOL!
I second the Mark Bittman books.
Also Joy of Cooking is a cookbook I think everyone should have. Its the ultimate cooking reference, not just recipes that are tried and true, but about cuts of meats, carving, the difference between baking a fresh pie and a frozen pie, substitutes like lemon and milk instead of buttermilk etc...
If you like to entertain the Silver Pallette really is a gem. Its older, but some of the best recipes!
If you are religious, or even if you just like the idea, a bible to start keeping track of births in your family.
There are lots of smaller priced items that can be purchased for the kitchen as I am sure you are aware, but also dont forget about other things like pots to grow herbs in!

I'm registering on Amazon and trying to include more less-expensive gift options for our guests (most are already having to travel and I don't want to ask for much). I love to read, and hey, it's Amazon, so I thought I should register for some books.
What are some good newlywed reads I might want to add? Any suggestions?
