I recently read “Something Wicked This Way Comes” by Ray Bradbury. I thought I would like it. I wanted to like it. I struggled to like it. I just didn’t like it.
Don’t get me wrong, it had some wonderful writing. It was a beautiful thing if you chopped it up and read each sentance seperately. You could tell that he had an intense amount of writing talent. But something about it just didn’t flow for me. I had a hard time visualizing a lot of it. He described things going on inside of a Mirror Maze, through the view of the boys standing outside… How did they see any of this? Are mirrors see through all of a sudden? I just didn’t get it!
Any books that you felt like you should have liked, but didn’t? Why?
