I really don't know about cowboy boots with that dress. It might be overkill. We are having a very rustic wedding, but the BMs are wearing off white Bandolino slingbacks.
It's not my taste, but I would go by how your bridesmaids feel. If they are with you and think it's funky, go for it. But if they aren't too comfortable on the idea, I don't think it would be too great to make them wear something that would be embarrassing to them. They will feel self conscious and probably not have a good time at the wedding.
HI! I think the idea of having the bridesmaids wear cowboy boots is adorable. Although, I think you have to be careful of what style dress you choose and the feel you are looking for your wedding to have.
The dress above might be too formal to wear with cowboy boots, but then again it may not. Best bet would be to talk it over with the girls you have asked to be bridesmaids and then take the boots with you on a bridesmaid dress hunt session.
Good luck!
PS these were some of my favs from online.
oh my goodness, i stand corrected. the cowboy boots with those green simple silhouettes dresses are TOO adorable.
I like the idea of boots under a long wedding dress, or long bridesmaids dresses. But I think that in this particular case, your bridesmaids' dress is very beautiful and dressy. I think cowboy boots wouldn't look right. The dress is too classic to get that funky vibe.
Thanks ladies..I was a little worried about how they would look with those dresses too but like i said i was going to take the belts off which i think make the dress look a little more formal. I dunno...i'll talk to my BM's and get their opinion but I think it might be a bust!
I honestly don't think it's a bad idea, especially after seeing those cute pictures. But, I would just say that maybe you wear the boots just so you stand out more...the bride's the one who should be the most special that day, right?
I think it can be fun! But becuase that dress is a little dressier than the ones pictured, I think I'd give them a country shawl or wrap to really pull it together as an outfit instead of out of place looking boots.

My girls (as well as myself) will most likely all be wearing boots. It can look really cute, but I think that's maybe not the case with your BM dress. Seeing the whole outfit in person really makes a huge difference but I'm inclined to think that that dress and boots won't go together well.
I am wearing boots under my dress. (So excited!!) I tried suggesting it to the girls as well, but they were NOT big fans. Whatever, I don't care that much. Plus we're having a cowboy rehearsal dinner so they can do that then.
Good luck!
LOVE LOVE the boots! I have picture #3 bookmarked in my, to die for weddings folder : ) Her wedding was amazing. I really like all those pictures with boots actually but one suggestion I would make is maybe casual up your BM dresses. All those in the picture fit a little more with the "formality" of the boots. Your light blue satin dress might be mismatchy with them. But I LOVE the boots look so hopefully you pull it all together and love it. Good luck!
well i decided no b/c i have to have that dress..i dont want it but one of my bridesmaid is plus size and it was the ONLY dress i could find in her size....believe me they would have been more casual if i had my way b/c i LOVE the boots! I hope other brides can do this idea i would love to see the final outcome..I plan on still wearing boots though! =) Thanks for all the help ladies!
I love the brown and green bridesmaid dresses with the boots. Anyone know where to find them. Please let me know.
They may not be available anymore since this post is pretty old, but I did some sleuthing and found out that they're from Urban outfitters.

Love this pic. I am not doing it because I would be the only one of my bridal party who actually owns/wears cowboy boots regularly, though.
While I like the look in general, I have to say, I think it would look stumpy with a tea length dress. Sorry. Tea length is so hard to pull off already, and boots can be stumpifying in and of themselves. I wouldn't combine the two unless all of your bridesmaids are of statuesque proportions.
@mdc1284: ANYBODY know where either of the green dresses are from? I am having such a hard time finding green dresses for my bridesmaids!

Hi Bees! The more planning I do, the more I am leaning toward a more rustic country wedding. After looking @ pictures of Mrs. Cherry Pie and Mrs. Pineapple I was thinking that I want to wear cowboy boots under my wedding dress too! So with that decided I was thinking about my bridesmaids and maybe having them wear boots too! They are wearing tea length dresses, I attached a picture (w/ this dress I was planning on taking the belt off and using a sash instead). What do you ladies think? Would it look stupid?
