- Wedding: August 2014
HI Bees –
I’m in the process of trying to find a jeweler to resign my e-ring and custom make a wedding band. My e-ring was purchased from moissaniteco and while I could not be more in love with the stones, and generally find their customer service to be great, the setting my stone is in is just not holding up. I got my ring in August and had lost a stone in the side (prong set, not even pave!) by October. I looked down yesterday to discover another stone missing. I’m not particularly hard on jewelry – I live in the city, in an apartment (no yard), and work in an office. In addition to the issue of losing stones, I’m not a big fan of the way the head is set – it just looks like a chunky after thought. I want it to look like one, streamlined piece (hopefully that makes sense!)
I digress… since i was already planning on having my band designed locally where I could physically walk in to a location if something on the ring was loose or damaged, I feel like it’s also a good time to reconsider the actual ering setting. When I get married in August, I want the rings I’m wearing and what is photographed to be my forever rings (I have no objection to those who upgrade, it’s just not something I ever want to plan on).
Has anyone worked with anyone in the greater Boston area for jewelry that is familiar with moissanite?
Has anyone that has gone thru the custom redesign process have any tips on how to interview and select a jeweler?
Does anyone have approximate costs for doing a full redesign when using all your own stones?
While I’m peppering you with questions, would you add a halo to this ring?
Any information, suggestions, tips would be super helpful! Thanks!
And just because it’s the ring board on the bee, a pic of my ring again (when it once held all it’s stones 🙁
