I am currently living in Boston but planning an out of state wedding. One of the requirements in the diocese I’m getting married in is participating in a FOCCUS inventory session. The problem I’m running into is only two names show up at facilitators in the state of Massachusetts. This seemed a little low to me, but maybe not? It would be a little non-traditional because the person preparing us through FOCCUS would not be the person officiating the wedding. Is anyone aware of FOCCUS programs at their parish in Massachusetts, preferablly the Boston area? Thanks!

I can’t speak to Boston but I will tell you we ran into a similar problem. I would contact whatever parish you attend or some in your area and talk to whoever coordinates weddings for them (priest, sister or volunteer). That person should be able to help you find someone to administer the FOCCUS. The FOCCUS is not required in our Diocese but is where we are getting married. So we did find a local parish to do it but we had to pay for all the shipping for them to get the marterials (no biggie). Their wedding coordinator said it’s not common since they don’t require it but they will do it if someone needs it.
Or maybe even try contacting the Diocese and explain your situation about which Diocese/parish you will be married at and that they require a FOCCUS.
