Hi Ladies!
I wanted to put it out there, even though I'm not available, raise your hand if you'd be intersted in a meet up??
It seems like there are a lot of you out there these days and you should totally get together and Bee-it-up!!!
If you want to wait until late April/early May I can organize it ... if not (which I dont think you should!!!!) would anyone be willing to organize? Maybe one of the Boston Bees?! Help a hostess out ladies!
:)
So would I, but I probably wouldn't be too useful with the planning part.
Well, there is the Paper-Source event on Feb 21...but I believe the only Bee in town that day is Latte...myself included...I know...I mentioned it first and now I can't go...but I'm an old bee...you all need some freshness anyway.
If you give me a heads up I would love to meet up! I live in NYC but my wedding is in Boston and I feel like I would have a ton of questions! =P It'll also be nice to enjoy Boston rather than run aroudn =)
The Paper Source idea is pretty good! I went last year with Corn and Canary! You all can go out to eat after too!
Unfortunately, it's the 21st, and I won't be in town!
I would love to meet up! What date would people be available, if we didn't do the Paper Source event? Would a week night work better or weekend? I live in the North End, and there's tons of great restaurants here we could grab dinner at (or even have wine/cheese at my place).
I would prefer weeknight (since I'm closer to the city from work than from home) and I can do most nights except Thursdays.
I might not be too into the Paper Source event, but I'd love to just meet up and chat. I work right on the green line so I can get pretty much anywhere in the evenings. Weekend would be just as good for me.
How would a Friday work? It's the hybrid weeknight/weekend. Would February 27th work for people?
i will be out of town for work :( but i hope there's another one soon that i can attend!
While we're on topic, anyone have any preferences for where to go, and what to do?
Since I'm asking, I throw out an idea... anyone up for bowling? (I am a terrible bowler, but I think it's super fun when I'm not throwing out gutter balls)... just a suggestion to get the ball rolling (haha!).
I'm fine with anywhere T-accessible!
Anywhere T-accessible as well, and someplace quiet enough that will allow us to talk to each other. :-) 27th would work for me.
Yay! Thanks for getting the ball rolling (HA pun intended if bowling is what you all end up doing!) ... I love bowling even though I am absolutely awful at it.
Bowling locations I know and love:
Kings - Back Bay
Lucky Strike / Jillian's - Fenway
Fun fun fun!!!
Oh...actually I probably won't be around on the 27th after all. But no worries, I won't miss the next one!
Hello! I'd love to meet up as well- I was thinking the paper source thing would have been a great idea, but unfortunately I have a cake tasting and floral appt that day. I am in for the 27th, but can usually do pretty much any week night if it is downtown.
I wanna come! I dont' have any friends getting married so no one knows what I'm going through!!!!
Any day works for me...I'm an awful bowler too though but would love to come!!!!
Lucky Strike is always fun, but it's noisy. Maybe we can go and then grab dinner or coffee? I'd really like to have the opportunity to get to know everyone and share ideas.
I think if you did it right after work on a Friday you would find it much less noisy then later in the night ... it's not typically an "after work" place. But I know what you mean LNickle ... I'm sure you guys could find a coffee shop in the area to meet before or after for chatting!
I'm so jealous you all get to meeet!
I'd love to. I'm new here and really need some friends who are in the same boat as me. All of my friends are too busy partying and getting wasted.
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO MEET UP OR IS INTERESTED IN BEING FRIENDS SEND ME A MESSAGE!
I'm up for the 27th. Did we decide where!? Everyone I know is sooooo sick of all the wedding talk, I'm sure!
So who's in charge?! Make it happen ladies -- looks like the 27th is good for a lot of people. Someone want to make some decisions?
I agree about the noise at a bowling place being a problem, but I'm willing to go with the flow.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Has anyone been to Felt? The Boston Globe had this to say about recently:
Felt (533 Washington St., Boston, 617-350-5555, www.feltclubboston.com). We know - you think Felt is a dance club. It is. From Tuesdays through Fridays, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., it also offers complimentary pool and 2-for-$5 mini-sandwiches, each of which, we're told, is about half the size of a regular sandwich. Selections include cheeseburger, veggie burger, and pulled pork, all fully dressed and served with fries.
If there happens to be anyone under 21, can they get in? I haven't looked ay everyone's age, but I don't want anyone to be left out.
I like both ideas...bowling and Felt.
i just called- they are 21 and over and all times (and apparently RUDE at all times since the lady who answered the phone when I called had an attitude!)
Is anyone who plans on coming under 21?
I guess with Felt, it depends what time of day we go. A dance club at night would have a lot more noise than a bowling alley, wouldn't it? I don't know! But 5-8 sounds better. But do we want to support them if they were so rude to rosychicklet? :)
I don't care what we do...I'm excited just to meet!
I'm not very up on places for us to meet in Boston (I work in Cambridge and don't get in there much during happy hour times).
I'd really like to get together, but I don't have a great after work place to suggest.
So far we've decided on Feb 27th, after work (I'm guessing around 6 or 6:30pm?).
Now we just need a location!
I work near Felt, and I agree it can get kind of noisy on a Friday... a few other options could be Stixx on Stanhope Street (they have such a pretty bar!),Cottonwood on Berkeley Street in Back Bay (great margaritas!), or Rustic Kitchen on Kneeland Street.
I know the owner of Stixx and would be happy to try to get us a reserved table there!
I've never been to Stixx or Cottonwood and both look great.
Anyone else have a preference?
Let's just call it!
Coconut- can you call and reserve a table for us at Stixx? If you let me know that we have a reservation, I'll post the info here and PM those who posted and said they were free.
