I've been going back and forth on that idea as well... Part of me really wants them for the same reasons as you but then part of me thinks, "Why spend the excess money just for some pictures??" I'm so torn...
I'm going to do it!! I'm mostly doing them for me, the fact that FI gets to enjoy them is just an added perk for him ![]()
My photographer is going to do a boudoir/bridal shoot -- part of it will be bridal portraits of me in my wedding gown, the rest will be saucy pics of me . . . not in my wedding gown. Since I haven't done the shoot yet, I don't know exactly how they'll come out, but I love my photographer so I'm super optimistic.
I was also going back and forth on this. I found a photographer in Boston and I was about to set up a shoot but unexpected wedding costs came up. But I vowed to do it (for me and my guy) for our first anniversary. It sounds so fun!
My photographer does them - Sarah Miller Photography (you can check out her website or blog, they both have examples). She did a bunch recently because of Valentine's Day. She is super sweet and I'm sure she would make you feel comfortable. I have to save up a little more money but I'll probably do one eventually with her!
I did it - and it was a great experience! Husband loved it also. I made a Blurb book and gave it to him for Valentines' Day. We got married Jan 24.
I did them and gave them to DH on our wedding night--he was so touched and has told me over and over again how much he loves them! And actually having the pics taken was SO fun-- I have to admit I was pretty nervous about doing them, but I took two close friends with me and we all had a blast! It is a little weird for the first five minutes, but a good photog will (1) put you at ease and (2) make sure you look sex-ay in your pics!
For anyone who is on the fence, I totally recommend taking the plunge! ![]()
i want to be in shape enough to do this for a 1-year anniversary for mr. cupcake, since our wedding was 5 months ago and i never did it!
i know alison conklin does boudoir sessions -- www.alisonconklin.com -- she is fabulous.
I suggest Celeste Giuliano. She does boudoir/pin-up photos. Super hot. Pricey, but gorgeous. http://www.lunarlightstudios.com/cg/index.html
Also, as Mrs Cupcake said, Alison Conklin is, indeed, fabulous.
I ended up doing them, even though I hesitated at first. I'm a size 12 and was intimidated by all the skinny pics I saw for examples...however, mine turned out great, and my photog doesn't even advertise that service specifically...so, keep an open mind to use your wedding day photog
I just had my photo shoot on Friday. It was sooo much fun! I would totally suggest it if you are a little undecided. I figured that I could cut out the chair sashes which we would only care about for one day, in order to have some amazing pictures taken that would last forever. Just imagine being 80 years old and looking back at how beautiful you were when you were younger.
I know not everyone is completly happy with their body (me included) but he fell in love with you not the you you want to be. I say go for it! I cant wait to surprise him on the wedding day.
I say go for it. Yes you guys can take pictures together any time. But how often do you get to have beautiful pictures taken of you in your most private moment and our most self conscious moments. Not only that they help you look amazing. And he will have never seen the pictures before so it is a true surprise! I am going to go for it simple because it is a once in a lifetime thing. Plus when we are ninety I can look back and be like DAMN I looked amazing then...
i thought about doing this but i'm so shy. i'm still thinking about it :)
I agree wtih doing them for the FI and for my self, but I'm a little shy. And it just feels odd for another man to see me in sexy poses in sexy clothes. Even a girl really. You can do them yourself though, Candy Corn did and they looked pretty darn good!
I'm actually thinking about doing them my self also
I hadn't even considered it until I read this post! Now I'm convinced it's the right thing to do. I won't use our wedding photographer because he's a man and FI would not be happy about that, but there are millions and millions of female photographers and I don't know about you ladies, but I am getting stalked by them to do my wedding!
This is exciting! He will be so surprised!!
