I'm a plus sized girl too and was afraid of doing the pics...but I did and I'm so glad I did because the husband LOVED them. I had to get creative w/ my outfits because it was 2 months before the wedding and I was so broke. So, I basically went with what I had. I did do a "wet" white tshirt which was nice, because I didn't feel like my flabby tummy was hanging out there. My husband is in the military, so I stole one of his uniform top thingies and wore that with it haning open...it covered the "important" parts, but definitely left room for the imagination. Another outfit I did was a dress I always wear to church. Normally, to make it modest, I have to wear a cammi underneath it, but without the cammi, it shows some major cleavage. The last outfit wasn't really an outfit. We couldn't go on a honeymoon right away, so to make the apartment special, I redecorated it and made a new bedset. I took the purple satin that I used to make the duvet and just draped it over me. All in all, I was pleased with hos the pics turned out. They were super sexy, according to my husband, but I still felt like the parts of my body I don't like were strategically covered up. lol As for poses, if the photographer is standing higher than you and looking down at you when they take a pic, that tends to be a flattering shot and makes you look slimmer. But I did a variety of poses and surprisingly the ones I didn't think I would like ended up being my favorite.
I'm also planning on having boudoir pics taken, but I'm going with my also-engaged bff. Alone, we would be terrified, but we figure being together would make us more comfortable and could create a fun atmosphere. AND we are really counting on each other to give much-needed compliments here and there. :)
One thing we refuse to compromise on is having a female photographer. I can't imagine how uncomfortable I would be posing like that in front of a man, no matter how great his photos are!
Thanks for the tips Dragonfly, im thinking havineg my sister do it and getting a room at nice hotel for the day. She is just starting her photography business so it would be nice practice for her.
@futuremrs: yeppers I am doing them, and here are some pix I have for inspiration...

i adore the picture on the left...

I hadn't thought about it, especially being plus size. I really like the sweater pose in crebre08 posts is super hot thought.
In other news..I love Crystal Renn she is doing it for the "big girls"111
I will be doing them as well. I'm so excited. This is definitely something out of my normal character, so I know hubby to be will lose his mind. Well worth the anxiety lol.
Hi Ladies! and congrats! I love the idea of Boudoir shoots for a gift for your groom!
I actually work with local photogs in dc/md/va doing the makeup for the shoots..
You may leave me a personal message if you want more info..I am not suppsed to post my website or email on here .
I'm gonna do a BD shoot.
I have a male photographer, but I'm bringing some friends with me so I won't feel self-conscious!
I want to do this for his "day of" gift when the other deliveries are made as his gifts.....hopefully he will see them and run to the alter to get things over and done with.....hehehehe
im new to the whole wedding planning business and had never even heard of this type of photography... thanks bees for enlightening me! sounds like a fab idea =D
I want to have these photos done but how do you "give" these things?...I am quite clueless and a bit nervous about someone seeing them- other than Mr. 06
YUP! i have an appt in january, i can't WAIT to give him the album on our wedding night!!!
@06anchored08 - My plan is to get the dvd of images they're offering as part of my package and making 4x6 prints. I'm putting them in a simple album tied with a ribbon and giving the album on our wedding night. Keeping it simple, understated and sophisticated is the way to go!
I would LOVE to do one! It would be my first time doing anything like this, so I am a little nervous! If anyone knows anyone in Orlando, Fl I would some contact information!
Hey Ladies,
I want to do this so bad but I am not comfortable in front of the camera. My FH would LOVE this so much!!!! Thanks for the inspiration. Our wedding photographer is a man... i guess I could take my BMs with me so that I would feel better.
I would give it to him the night before the wedding....
I actually had some boudoir photos done recently for my fiance'. I have to say, I was very nervous.......I had a baby 10 months ago and I still haven't lost all of the baby weight. But, my photographer made me feel so comfortable! The pictures came out amazing!! I didn't know I could even look like that.....her work was incredible. So ladies, I HIGHLY recommend getting boudoir photos done. Your fiance's or husbands will LOVE it!!!
You can wear his favorite sports team jewelry, lay on a bed and use the sheet as a cover up, cover with bubbles in a bathtub..etc. many many ideas!

Hello,
I am new here, getting married on 12-5-2010. I decided as part of wedding gift to have boudoir pics done, I am a little nervous as I am a plus size girl size 16 but large up top. Wondering if anyone else is doing them and if you have any pointers on posing.
