I got them done and we like them a lot. I would suggest shopping around and picking a good photographer who will make sure they’re classy and artistic. Typically, they’ll charge a bit more (especially if they have their own studio + props) but it’s worth it. I’ll go out on a limb here and assume that these reputable photographers are more likely to be careful with your images and not use them for publicity or personal use (unless you sign off on it). I would definitely encourage a phone call or a meeting ahead of time because you want to make sure you connect with the photographer. It’s already a bit awkward lounging around in your undergarments in front of a stranger (unless you really are a lingerie model in real life) so you’ll want to make sure you two are in sync.

@renwoman:  I had a very quick informal session done the morning of my wedding.  I ended up with about 30 pics and am VERY happy with them.

I plan on getting them done soon. I have signed up for a bunch of personal training sessions and I would love to have photos of me at my best both for DH and for myself!

@renwoman:  My FI takes them, but yes, I have done them. Never with a stranger though…I don’t know how he’d feel about that idea.

I’m a plus size gal and am planning on doing a shoot.

I took a pole exercise class last year (on another note the class was amazing and I miss doing it) and they offered to do a shoot with us using the pole. I did it and it was AMAZING!! I felt so confident and sexy afterwards and FI (boyfriend at the time) absolutely loved the pictures.

My photographer who’s doing it as a beuty boudior session available. One that’s still sexy but you could still put up in your home for others to see.

Snapknot has a whole pinterest board dedicated to ideas and different ways to do it. You can find it here:

I say go for it. You’ll feel amazing afterwards and your SO will love it!

@wisher558:  I just took a pole class this summer!  It was so fun and I’m going to go on to the next level in the Fall!

I haven’t done a boudoir session, but I’m planning to do one with my wedding photographer.  I emailed her to ask about it and she says she’s done lots of boudoir sessions, but doesn’t mention them on her website so it’s a surprise for the SO!  She also sent me some examples of one she shot recently, and I’m jazzed about it!

I did them 🙂 but was apprehensive at first. I knew I was not going to be comfortable with a male photographer so I searched around for a female photographer who specialized in boudoir photography in my area. I was on the fence too so we met a few weeks earlier at her studio so she could show me how it would work and what to expect. She encouraged bringing a good range of clothes/lingerie and props and you only bare as much skin as you’re comfortable with. It was all very professional and so I decided to go ahead with it. The shoot itself was very relaxed and there was a form that we signed that guaranteed privacy/release for use (I could specify that my photos were not to be blogged or used for promotional material etc). I was at her studio for almost the entire day (hair & makeup, photoshoot, lunch, photo viewing and album selection) and was the only client there so it was very private. It was definitely more expensive to do it this way, compared to a setup where you sign up for an hour at a hotel and the photographer shoots half a dozen clients that day. I see groupons for this sort of thing all the time, and I’m sure you can get great photos this way too but I’m not sure I would’ve been comfortable enough to relax and enjoy the process and it would show. In the end, I was just amazed at the pictures. I never knew I could look so glamorous. DH loves the photos. Stunned him speechless for a bit hee hee 😉 Perfect wedding gift!

@renwoman:  I’m planning on doing these–in fact, I just had a discussion with my photographer about the details of getting a session set up.  I won’t be doing it for another 6 months or so (figure I might as well use the extra time to get toned up lol), but as nervous as I am, I’m also looking forward to it.

I’ve considered doing this off and on for years, just to have the experience for myself and to maybe allow myself to see my body in a beautiful, sexy context – something that has never been easy or come naturally to me.  I’ve had shitty self-esteem and body image for as long as I can remember, so I see this as an opportunity to see myself in a new way.

Of course getting married and having the photos taken to surprise FI (and having a female photographer I feel comfortable with) was the incentive I needed to actually get off the fence and get moving on this.  I’m scared to death but excited, too.  The pictures will be for his eyes only (and maybe my best friend lol), and between us, and I know that my photographer will help me keep them classy and elegant (FI wouldn’t like anything trashy anyway).  I know FI will love them and I really think it will be a good experience for me, so I view it as a win-win.

I wasn’t going to do a boudoir shoot originally, but it came with our photography package (we got to chose bridal or boudoir, my husband picked boudoir).  I’m definitely glad I did it, but having an experienced boudoir photographer and getting to meet her/get to know her beforehand made it much more comfortable.  I did all of my album design and printing at home (canon pixma).  My husband is now asking for another boudoir shoot as a 1 year anniversary present.

I defintely want to do this, although I am a bit nervous and need to lose a few pounds first. My goal is to do the shoot in December, giving my motivation to stay in the gym. I am going to book a night at a bed and breakfest so it will have a luxorious feel too it. I’m going to have the photog come do the shoot while my FI is still at work.

I will then text my FI that I have a surprise from him and tell him to drive to the BNB as part of his Christmas gift.

Once I get the photo’s back, i’m going to make a book out of it and give it to him on our wedding day.

I would.  But I can’t really afford it right now.  Has anyone ever DIY them? lol
