Oh, forgot to mention in case anyone wondered... it's a Casablanca dress, style #1831.
The dress is very pretty, and what a good deal!
You don't HAVE to get the "oh my gosh its THE dress" feeling! I haven't posted about it yet, but I can tell you that I didn't get it...even though the dress that I did buy IS "THE dress" in the end. I was hoping to get all choked up...but eh...nope! Don't feel bad!
OH! I just realized that I can go to my budget list and enter in that I paid $XXXX less than planned for my wedding dress! Yaaaaaaay!
@ Kaybee--- I had the same experience! I wanted sleek, chic, sophistocated straight satin gown. I tried on about 75-100 gowns. Yes, insanity. I never really had that "oh my god, this is the ONE" moment. I ended up with a lace, A-line, Rosa Clara dress...with ruffles. HAHA. I feel confident about the dress I bought, I think I look great in it, and it's very "me". I guess some brides just never have that "A HA!" moment.... oh well! I think your dress is beautiful. Congrats.
Your dress sounds beautiful EvieMarie!
And yep, like you said- this dress is very "me".
I'm thinking I'm going to alter the back so it's a corsett back to add some interest. THEN.... I can match the cord for the corsett with my shoe color and make it look like it's supposed to be that way. lol. It'll be good!
I don't know yet.... possibly red. Or Teal. Depends on what shoes I find that I love.
It's oddly freeing to not have wedding colors... :P
I wouldn't have ever thought to get a corset altered into a dress! Very interesting idea!
Love the dress! Soooo pretty! Do you have any pictures of you in it? I almost always think real people look better in wedding dresses then models! :)
I love the dress!!! It's one of my favorites and is a very sophisticated and alluring dress...
Thanks for the moral support, everyone!
I don't have any pictures of me in the dress... I forgot my camera! I am slightly larger than a 10 and a bit smaller than a 12 in most of the dresses I've tried, and this one is a 14 so it'll need to altered to fit, have a corset back added and length adjusted.
I'll be sure to take pics and post them when I go in for alterations!

Arg. I just bought a totally different dress than I was planning. This one is a lot more lightweight and will be nicer for an outdoors, casual August wedding where I plan to be visiting, drinking and dancing more than posing for pictures. It's also got straps, which are much more flattering on me.
My only problem is that I never got that "OH MY GOD I'M SO EXCITED!!!" feeling while trying on ANY of the 30+ dresses I've worn. I came close with one of the dresses I posted previoiusly about... but I felt bad paying that much for a dress I'll wear for like 6 hours. I also put the "exciting" dress back on today, and it just felt like a big "mess of dress"... like it'd get in my way and be hot and sweaty and a pain in the butt (not literally).
I like the dress I bought- it's flattering and was the smart option. I bought the store's floor model for $350. I feel good about the price. I feel very sensible.
Anyone else in the same boat, dress-wise? Feeling not quite tickled-to-death, but feeling very sensible?
