That sucks! I can't believe there is even an option to have the bride and groom pick up their gift at the store. I would call or go back to the store and ask to speak to the manager. If the website is confusing this can't be the first time this has happened. You paid for the item and they should release it to you.
I agree about speaking to a manager. Maybe there's a way to "return" it and then re-purchase it the correct way.

For friends of mine who are getting married in six weeks. I bought two sets of their super expensive flatware online from their registry last night and thought I'd pick it up, wrap it myself and add the card as well as a small additional gift. Apparently I'm online shopping challenged and when I went to the store this morning, they said they can't give it to me because I requested that the flatware (unwrapped) be picked up by the bride and groom! So....what's the best way to go about fixing this faux pas?
