We closed on our house today!!! So super exciting! But we totally blacked out our bank accounts to put 20% down. a little nervous about the last minute expenses for our June Wedding! :)

But still totally excited! We get the keys Feb 7th!

CorgiTales---congrats to you as well! we did celebrate if you consider eating dinner and passing out at 10pm celebrating :) We were VERY excited but just so exhausted from really tough weeks at work. There is SSOOO much paper work at closing...and most of it is so repetative....really weird and totally boring but so worth it! :)

BunnyLovesBear--Congrats! that is so exciting. Let us know what happens with your offer

MisAsb-thank you for the kind words but no worries on saving; we are very "frugal". It is jsut nerve racking not having that cusion for a little bit. but i have compelete faith in us. plus i just got a promotion last week :) GREAT TIMING! (knock on wood)

1 Danielle I'm sooo happy for you! It must be a great feeling knowing that after you get married you will have a home to live in and raise a family in. It's official. My FH and I are either going to live in his studio apartment or in a one bedroom apartment for a year. It all depends on when and if he finds a job before our wedding. Wish him luck. Best of luck to you!

Congrats. It's a great feeling isn't it? We closed on our house about 8 months ago and it's great having something to really call "home".

wow thanks everyone! this is a really wonderful time for us. house and wedding all in one year....we are very fortunate.

Thefuturemrsgibbs-i am sure your FI will find a job once he graduates and you guys will start saving for a house before you know it. we have been living in a tiny apartment for 2 years now, so this move is MUCH needed :)

Congrats to you as well BrideToBe2010 :) I hope you are enjoying home ownership.

Sulli301-best wishes to you and your FI in finding the home of your dreams! :)

Yay!! Don't worry...you'll get a huge tax return. Mortgage insurance, interest, etc... a whole year's worth since you'll be buying early in the year. (I know you have to wait until 2011 though). You're emergency money is with Uncle Sam but at least it's there.
