Hey Bees –
I saved buying my dress till the end of my decision making – I consider it the fun part and booked my venue, caterer, photographer… etc, first.
My little sister aka Maid/Matron of Honor made me an appointment at a major bridal salon in our area – with my mother, aunt, and bridal party in attendance. But because I put it off for so long, I lacked a lot of direction as to what I wanted – I knew I wanted PINK – but had my eye on gowns out of my budget, i.e Martina Liana, Alita Graham, etc….
My sister decided to take me into our local David’s Bridal last Tuesday to get a running head start – she said “try on every style and silhouette, and figure out what you like”
I chose dresses based on fabrics – I like tulle, organza, or anything soft – flowing – romantic.
The first dress I tried on – I actually loved. My consultant said – “I Have it in PINK!”
And the rest was history.
I bought the dress – with only my sister present. We discussed it for a long time – neither of us able to really say out loud what was happening. And I came in about $800 under budget.
Looking at the pics I love how simple the dress is – the pink is not done justice in the photos – but I plan on wearing leopard print shoes (because that is so me!!) and tons of very glittery jewelry. Along with a very dramatic floral belt – not the one pictured.
My original dress concept was more fitted – a mermaid or trumpet style. But I fell in love with the color, and how I felt in this dress…
Looking for some honest opinions from the knowledgeable bees 🙂
Here is my dress – it was under budget enough to justify purchasing a new gown – and using them both – ceremony/reception. Should I stick with this or look into further fitted gowns??
