My wedding is about a year away, and I just bought my dress Saturday! I wasn’t expecting to buy so soon, but I went shopping with some of my bridesmaids and mother and they all agreed this dress was too beautiful and figure flattering to leave in the store. It was also 50% off, so I felt like I made the smart decision to buy it then rather than come back and pay more.
Now, I wouldn’t say I have dress regret, but I have had my eye on a dress and I feel like I need to try it on to reaffirm that I made the right choice. I think the Watters dress (stock pic below) is beautiful, but I don’t know that it would flatter my figure the way the Justin Alexander does. I should mention that in my dress shopping journey, I went to 4 different stores and probably tried on between 30-40 dresses. So it’s not like I bought the first dress I tried.
What do you think? Is it a bad idea to try the Watters gown? It’s from the fall collection and I would have to visit a trunk show to do so. Or should I try it on just to ease my mind?
The dress I purchased is the Justin Alexander 8656 and the gown I have been eyeing is the Watters Jacinda. It should be noted that the Justin Alexander is a size too small for me. If I can’t lose enough weight in time, there is enough extra fabric for it to me properly altered.
(Sorry if the pics are huge!)

@sp3cia1j: Nooooo you have bought your dress……STOP shopping and even looking at dresses! That is how so many brides end up with 2, 3, even 4 dresses. Very common to have dress regret when there are so many dresses out there.
The dress you have looks fabulous! I suggest focusing on shopping for another part of your look like accessories, shoes, under garments, slip or whatever else you need. Just direct your focus somewhere else or you will prob end up with regret!

Your dress is gorgeous! The Watters wouldn’t even compare so don’t bother with it! Did you keep dating other men after your engagement to reaffirm your choice?

@sp3cia1j: No more shopping; your dress is gorgeous! You’re just going to set yourself up to fail if you keep looking.

I bought 3 dresses 🙂 lol!! I regretted my first one but I’m wearing my other two! I’m a big fan of keep shopping!!!! I didn’t feel 100% comfortable until I bought my last two dresses! I loveyour dress that you already have and the one you’re looking at. Trust me, I’m def going against the grain– most people will tell you to stick with your first dress!

@sp3cia1j: Stop shopping! That Watters dress is nowhere near as beautiful as the one your bought, and may just end up making you feel crappy!

@sp3cia1j: To be honest, I don’t think the Watters dress will be as flattering. You have fantastic curves, and the Watters would hide that. I was in the same boat – had my eye on a ballgown-ish Rivini. I saw it in person and loved it. But after thinking about it, I realized the cut just wasnt for me. The JA is classic, yet sexy. I’d stick with it.

I love your dress on you! I think it is much prettier than the Watters dress!

@sp3cia1j: no, stop.
i dont think the second dress would be as flattering on you.
the dress you have on is gorgeous and timeless. its elegant and a classic!

@BlondeBee: Honestly, that’s what I was thinking too! I think the Watters dress is cut more straight and is more flowy than the JA, which is very curve-hugging. I doubt it will look as nice but I am SO curious!

@sp3cia1j: Dude, I’m in a really similar position. I found my dress on Saturday and I wasn’t expecting to find it so soon either. Now I’ve been wondering about the dresses I could have tried on, just like you. Don’t try on the Watters gown. The Justin Alexander dress is gorgeous on you. I know it’s hard to resist the urge to stop shopping, but you’ll be much happier and less stressed if you just focus on the amazing dress you have.

Your dress looks AMAZING on you !!!!!!! Stop looking ! Finding the dress is like finding the groom, once you found the one STOP looking ! 🙂

Seriously you look stunning! I understand why you want to look at more dresses but this dress is jaw dropping gorgeous on you 🙂

I think your dress looks amazing on you – I think that you would be hard pressed to find something more flattering and you should stop looking.
However I’m probably the biggest hypocrite when it comes to this as I’m thinking of going on one last shopping trip even though I already have a dress. In my defense I bought my dress really early and there’s a certain style of dress which I think would look good that I didn’t get to try on.
