I like your dress—as it is! The gown is very classy and elegant. I think beading it would cheapen the look substantially. Why not get beaded or blingy shoes or accessories if you feel like adding sparkle to your look???

Oh it’s pretty! & you mean like ON the dress ? Sounds risky… I think a statement necklace would do the job!

my dress is a similar silhouette but it has beading that I want to remove. The belt doe not come with the dress but I feel with total package of the necklace the makeup veil and bouquet the dress will be Totally not boring!

I love it! Its absolutely gorgeous and flattering, your body looks perfect! I personally think the ruffles on the bottom make the dress seem far from simple. You could go a little crazy with accessories though because it doesn’t have anything busy on the top. My dress is the same way on the top and I love it! It looks awesome with a long dramatic veil too like in the picture. I just love everything about your dress!

It’s gorgeous! You could add a sash to dress it up a bit if you’re worried though.

@turqoisewaters:  I DIY’d my own necklace bc I ended up with a dress that has no bling at all – and before that I had refused to try on dresses without sparkle!! but I just loved my dress… My inspiration necklace was from a store in Toronto (where you are!)  I tried to recreate it but the brooch part is different bc the store was sold out of that brooch.  I’m not happy with that part of my necklace and plan to change it this summer.

Inspiration:

Here you can see it against my dress

I think a statement necklace would bling it up – get the jazzed up look you’re after. Like these:

@turqoisewaters:  your dress is gorgeous! I agree with the others, try a blingy belt, if that doesn’t work, bling yourself up with accessories.

It is a beautiful dress!

Maybe a belt would do?

Its an amazing dress.  I would totally do a nice statement necklace with some blingtastic stud earrings and possibly a bracelet.  Is that the veil you plan to wear?  If not you could get a one with crystals.  I would not add to the dress at all.

@turqoisewaters:  Love it! Reminds me a little of the Vera Wang “Hilary Duff” dress would look great with a statement necklace as suggested.  I think that the skirt is dramatic enough not to be ‘plain’ and too much bling would detract from its simplistic elegance Smile.

@turqoisewaters:  firstly it looks AMAZING on you. Its a beautiful dress and I like the way the ruffles start so low down like a true mermaid dress.

i think it’s hardly simple just because it doesn’t have any bling its still a dress that makes a statement. I think maybe keep it simple for the ceremony then go all out with accessories for the reception!
