Gorgeous! Congrats! Don't worry too much about buying early. I've already got mine and I'm getting married about a week before you! :-) I love your dress!
@amanda.lynn oh yay! january 2011 brides!!
thanks, hive! glad you approve!
OH.MY.GAWD!!! i Love it!!! hmmmmm the one sleeve thing is totally me!!! i am beginning to rethink my dress-fueled emotional breakdown of last week!! this one is much better me... too bad i can't afford it at the 4k price!!! WOWZAS!!! i cannot wait to see you in it because it is stunning! i never thought of doing that to a jacket before... hmmmmm i may have to archive your look ;)
Congratulations! It's beautiful!!!!
And congratulations on the locating, haggling, and - most of all - the loving it! Totally paid off.
very nice, very French:) I love the bottom of the dress. (as an aside, I also think the shoes go very well with the dress too - closed toe shoes look elegant)
LOVELY!!!!!!!! i know you said you're not doing the one sleeve, but i kinda like it!
Oooohhh me likey!
May I ask which store in LA you bought it from? :)
omg LOVE! It has such a pretty, romantic look to it! Congrats on a great find!
This dress is wonderful! I normally do not like the one shoulder look but on this dress it just fits! love love love it and that bottom hem is simply amazing. Great find!
i didn't even realize the french connection?! hmmmm i do love the french... je t'aime aussi!!! especially that funky cool jacket!!! you have gotta give the dets on it!!! i want to know everything!!!
designer, etc :D
WOW is all I can say!!! I love the hem so much .... stunning!!! Have you thought of using the lace from the jacket to make your own veil?? I think that would add a special touch to an already perfect gown :) CONGRATS!
thanks guys!!!! i love the look of the one-sleeve on the model, but i didn't like it on me so much. plus, i'm a size 2, except for my disproportionately big boobs. so i had to order a larger size to accomodate my "girls" and the jacket is just too big in every way. though i probably should think about getting it altered...duh! never thought of that until now...
@futuredrbraun, i did think about using it to make a veil! i always thought i wanted a super-sheer one layer veil, but i just might have to add in some lace now ;)
@ddubzz, i ordered online from http://www.bridecouture.com/ the owner is fantastic, she answered my emails ASAP and shipped it the day after i purchased! plus, the store has a return policy! hard to find in teh online-dress shopping world!
@crebre80, it's by Cymbeline Paris, the dress is called Racine. i think the design may be a few years old, but i sure don't care. this particular design was made by Harriet de Prag for Cymbeline.
@mandM, i'm searching like a mad woman for those shoes! cymbeline makes shoes, but since the design is a few years old, i haven't had much luck finding those exact ones! but yes, i will be going for lacey-pointy toe shoes :) it works for a black tie wedding in winter
WOW! I joined the party late but that dress is so awesomely unique. And beautiful! Gorgeous! Congrats!
oh you're soo tiny! i can't wait to see the pictures of you in it!! congratulations again..
I think it would be really pretty if you cut the sleeve off and kept some of the lace as a thick strap.
Not a fan of the one armed lace shrug, but love the detailed bottom hem! You got a steal! Congrats! :D
Wow, that's beautiful! I love the lace at the bottom-tres chic!
I was browsing this website and thought of your dress when I saw these:
http://perfectdetails.com/Casablanca-SW.htm?Category_Code=beaded
Plus, they have really good sales! (I wish it had been the case when I was searching for my wedding shoes...sigh))
Would you be willing to sell the one shoulder piece you're not wearing to me? I'd like to add a bit more to mine. Thanks for considering! kmsand77 at hotmail dot com
Also, if you are looking for those shoes, there's a girl on www.preownedweddingdresses.com who has them in a size 7.5 US I think. It'll be posted with her Cymbeline dress, but she's selling them separately. GL!

Ok I went a little nuts and bought a dress. From online. Without ever having seen it in person. When I still have 15 months until my wedding date.
GOOD NEWS! I love it and look lovely in it (though I don't have pics of me in it yet).
I've been in love with this designer Cymbeline Paris forever, but never thought I could attain one of their gowns, because they are very tricky to locate here in the states. I also didn't think one would be in my budget. But then I started searching online! I located a store in LA that had the one I wanted, and it has never even been worn to a wedding. It was deeply discounted because it was a sample, and I was able to haggle the shop owner down to a lower price :)
Basically, the dress retailed for over $4,000...but I got mine in excellent condition in my hot little hands for $1,000! Here she is! I'm not in to the one-arm thing, but that is just a little jacket that is seperate. I don't plan on wearing it, but it is good to keep it because I may need to chop it up to repair some of the lace on my gown if anything happens.
It's a two piece gown, lace corsetted top, french train, taffeta skirt with layers of tulle and lace peeking out at the bottom. Le sigh. ok, ok, enough already--->what do you guys think? believe it or not, your opinions matter to me as much as a close friend's would!
