I had a meeting with a floral designer a couple days ago and she posed a question that I hadn’t thought about: what color do I want the ribbon on the bouquets?
I just want a normal hand-tied bouquet wrap, no bows or anything. My gown is white and the bridesmaids are in black with white sashes. The flowers are red tulips, red peonies, and black magic roses.
I just can’t decide if red, white, or black would look better. If anyone has any photos, that would be great too. Thanks!

Usually with red dominant bouquets, I’ve seen white ribbon. Will the ribbon cover the entire stem of the bouquet or just around the middle?

It will probably cover all but the last couple inches of the stems. I tried to look for pictures, but it seems you can’t really see the ribbon in most photos anyway.

I would do white for yours, and black for the bridesmaids to match your dresses.

Mrs. Bee (Wedding Bee logo at top of pg) has a nice white ribbon with her red rose bouquet and I think it looks nice

Sweetvenus, have you asked your florist to make you a test bouquet? Doesn’t have to be elaborate as your real one, but will give you a good visual sense.
You can then wrap the stems with each color and see what you like best.

I agree with knudsonwedding – white for you, black for your bridesmaids. I wouldn’t choose red.
