My cousin-in-law and aunt-in-law made me a brooch bouquet with silk flowers in between.  Came out quite well.

Hi,

I made this one for a very good friend and now my bridesmaid. Sorry I don’t have a better picture but I used hydrangeas and a mix of personal brooches her family gave to her. It wasn’t hard, just time consuming. If more detailed directions would help let me know! I’m happy to share

@nicexgf:

I’m pretty sure the one I did was 8 inches. We collected brooches or other jewelrey items from family member and ended up with 13 or 14. I did buy 4 or 5 big brooches/pendant pieces from joannes/michaels. Some earrings were good flers. I also made fabric flowers from her first communion and baptismal outfits. I filled it in with hydrangea petals and pearl studded pins. Hope that helps. Barrettes work too!

All I can say is, wow!! You and I have very similar taste. My wedding will be featuring those same coloRs. I am also planning to have a flower/brooch bouquet . I have found some at thrift stores.

I will also have one matching brooch in my bouquet that will correspond to a given brooch in each of my bridesmaids bouquets. 🙂 would love to see pics as your flower adventure progresses 🙂

I ended up with about 40-50 brooches, pins, rings, etc. – don’t confine yourself to just brooches – anything blingy will work!

@nicexgf:  I dont know if you found a source for brooches yet, but in case not I wanted to point you to an Etsy store I used.

I made satin flowers with brooch centers and bought all of the brooches from this store. If you go with this store, definitely pay attention to the sizing on the comments! I’ve had a really positive experience, but you probably need more of the larger sizes.

My bouquet is white and blue flowers with 4 brooches mixed in, I am also having small single pearl strands hanging off the bouquet swooping around the edge of the bouquet.  I guess it all depends on the look your going for,  if you want more flowers with a few brooches or an even amount of both or more brooches with miniumal flowers.
