I would do the champagne/gold ties with no bout. The champagne/gold ties will tie in much better with the girls gowns, and I think adding a bout would look awkward without a jacket.

I agree no bout’s with no jacket.  I think I’ve seen it before and it can hang funny because the shirt is flimsy.  I like the champagne/gold ties since they are guys. πŸ™‚

@laktolkr: No, I don’t think that it will be too monochromatic at all. I think it will tie in nicely, and give the look and feel that you are describing.

These guys look like they have champagne ties on no?  And I think it looks good.  Not blah at all.

My SIL refused to wear a tie, but agreed to wear a jacket. No jacket on the GM either. We did the bouts on line shirts on the GM and on the jacket of groom. The bouts were lost after the ceremony…I hated the way the groom’s Mom pinned them on so high!

We’re doing the SAME EXACT thing (except the ties will be green).  lol  I mean they are all dressing the same way, etc.

We are doing boutineers, but they’re called tshirt boutineers.  our florist recommended it to us (since they’re not so bulky on the dress shirts) and when he showed us the picture (with a calla lilly) we fell in love.  Research it and see if its something you like.  Good luck!

I’m glad you brought this up. I’m having a beach wedding and groomsmen won’t be wearing jackets. I never thought that they shouldn’t have a boutonniere but when I look at it I think its best without.

We’re having a beach wedding as well. Just wanted to offer another suggestion (not sure it will work without jackets however). My FI is going to have an orchid bout, but the groomsmen will be having starfish in place of flowers. We’re actually using bout magnets instead of pins. Love it!

My hubby did no jacket and bout. I’m a flower lover and he’s pretty traditional, so it made sense for us.
