@mousiegirl:  I always saw Rhys as a girls name, but as far as rhyming I think it’s okay. I rhyme with my mom and an uncle 🙂

@mousiegirl:  Think about it this way, kids at school are not going to know your name, they will only know you are Mrs X or Rhys’ mum. So you have no problems there.

If anyone points it out to you just laugh and say, oh wow, I never noticed that before! You didn’t do it on purpose, it’s not that noticeable and choosing a name is hard enough.

BTW – I know boy a Rhys but no girls.

Stick with it. I doubt that anyone is going to notice!

My mothers name is Terri, my brothers name is Cary. It’s really not a big deal.

@mousiegirl:  i say stay with Rhys.

we have the same dilemma, we’re not TTC yet…..but we LOVE the name Lily. only problem is my husbands name is Billy (not william) and my name is Amelia so i get called Milly.

i can just imagine our christmas cards being sent out.

“merry christmas! love Bill, Mill and Lil.”

🙁 still trying to work up to that one.

well i thought it was a bit odd when i found out meryl davis’ mom’s name is cheryl. BUT i think something like rhys and elise is toooootally different. (i’m trying to figure out what your name could be but haven’t gotten it yet haha) i think you’re totally fine. stick with the name you love. after all, for the majority of his life he won’t be known in reference to his mom, he will be his own person at uni, work, etc.

Stick with what you love. What does it matter if it rhymes with your first name?
One solution could be to give him a hyphen name to tag on and that will change the ending of the rhyme…
