I voted for Wade, although I like Lukas, too. I love the name Beau, which to me sounds very good ole boy country. I also like Wes or Weston.

Maybe it’s just the accent, but when I was growing up in WV, a lot of Masons ans Tysons sounded very country!  Payton, Levi, and Hunter have a country edge too.

Your husband’s love of fishing makes me remember 3 brothers that were in school around my grade- Hunter, Fisher, and Trapper.  No joke.

I prefer Lukas but would spell it with a c, rather than a k. Otherwise I don’t really know what would qualify as rustic so can’t help much.

I voted Lukas. I also vote to definitely NOT tell anyone your chosen name until the baby is born! For whatever reason when you share beforehand people think it gives them the right to make negative comments. After the baby’s already been named it’s different (or they’re just jerks then!)

ljpink:  I really like both names but I think Wade sounds more “rustic” so that’s the one I voted for!

    Definitely Wade!

    Some other suggestions..

    Easton – Leland – Parker – Dustin – Mason

..not even sure why these names even seem “ruatic-y” to me haha.

I voted Wade.  However living here on the Texas/Oklahoma border, I hear quite a lot of “rustic” boy names.  Here are a couple other suggestions:

Colton (Colt for short), Lane (after Lane Frost), Wyatt and Cody.

ljpink:  Wade makes me think of “wading” through a lake / a river, which i find a very weird association for a name. Thus I prefer Lucas / Lukas. <br />To me Shawn / Cody / Hunter /Lance give off a rustic vibe.

I voted for Wade cos it seems to fit when you’re going for more, I suggest Hunter or Gunner though I can understand they aren’t to everyones taste.

wvlefty:  LOL! That is exactly why my cousin’s son’s name is Hunter. We joked and told them if they had a 2nd boy they needed to name him Fisher.

I like Lukas, but only if you switch the K for a C.  Lucas is much more masculine, in my opinion.

A lot of my inlaws are from the deep south, so we hear a lot of names like Lee, Dixon, Mason, Colt, Wade, Wayne, etc if you’re looking for other ideas.

I voted for Wade. I think Wade Benjamin is a really nice name. I like Luke but not Lukas.

I voted Lukas but would also spell it with a ‘C’. Wade sounds too old timey to me, which is personally not my favourite style!

Suggestions: Abel, Sawyer, Finn or Fynn, Skyler, Dustin, Ryder, Chase, Jerimiah, Jeremy (I’m from the country and know probably 5 Jeremy’s…)

Thats all I can think of!
