My dress has an open back.  Each time I've tried it on and had my back photographed, I have noticed that it is possible to see lines on my skin from where my normal bra normally sits.

I'm not sure how long it takes for them to disappear naturally, but I am concerned that they would be noticeable (although perhaps partially covered by a veil).  I'll need to wear a bra until I start dressing for the ceremony.  Is there something I can use to help eliminate these lines?

    Thanks much.

Your bra should not be cutting into you enough to make lines!  I would get fitted for a proper bra, stat.  I think it's very common for women to wear the wrong size bras, enough so that Oprah and Martha Stewart and Tyra Banks and probably every other talk show hostess under the sun has done a feature on it at some point.  Ouch!

I agree that it sounds like your bras might be too tight if they are leaving marks across your back.

Could you wear the bra that you are wearing with your wedding dress under your shirt on the day of?  Or, if you aren't wearing a bra with the dress, could you wear those stick on cup things?

I used to dance ballet and the day of performances we weren't allowed to wear our bra all day so as not to have any sort of lines.  I'm sure you can go a day without a bra, (if not a day, two hours should be enough).

Actually, a strapless bra (were you wearing a strapless?) has to take such a tightight grip onto your skin in order not to slide that, not matter how many times I've been sized and how many brands I've tried, it still leaves marks...  Have you considered wearing a bralette (http://www.barenecessities.com/Bras-Bralette_catalog_nxs,31,style,79.htm)?  Not sure how much you've got up top but they are great for C's or smaller and won't leave lines.

Also, if going bra-less is too uncomfortable, what about wearing a soft sports bra?  Not tight enough to leave marks, but I know I definitely have some old sports bras that that have been through the washer so many times they're just soft baggy cotton at this point.  Or else a camisole?

I will have to think about what might work in terms of fewer lines.

Here's a picture of the problem.

oh wow, I love that dress!  Anyways, I deal with this as well but on the sides--I need to get properly fitted.  Definitely look into a different bra and make sure it's the correct size (have a couple of saleswomen measure you).

That was one piece of advice my seamstress gave me that I have passed onto a bunch of brides -- no bra the day of the wedding!!  I know it's weird for most women (I didn't have a problem - not much to hold up, hehe) but as long as you aren't gallavanting around too much - you should try to go without bra. Gooood luck ! Gorgeous dress!

I would have to say, I think that you are wearing a bra with a band that is a bit too small, make sure you get fitted properly, and perhaps go bra-less while you get ready the day of the wedding. (I am an F - cup and when I am wearing properly fitted bras I have no lines anywhere when I take it off)

I've been measured a few times recently.  I spent quite a bit of time looking for a bra that would work.  I went to several shops.

I know that my sports bra also leaves lines...don't know if they are more or less prounounced than the lines from my regular bra.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue!

Also, does anyone know of a lotion or cream that would get rid of the lines quicker?

why do you need a bra earlier? who will be seeing you besides your girls?

if you need a bra try barely there or maybe just wear a shelf-bra undershirt that's loose...

I agree with going braless the morning of the wedding. Sometimes I like to wear a tight wifebeater to keep everything kinda in place without a bra.

Ditto to the ones who suggest a tank top or shirt with a built in front bra. I think VS might have something like this? If not, get yourself a cute Bride track jacket or Future Mrs. XX and ta da!

just wear whatever undergarments you are planning on wearing with your dress....  Or go without, you can wear a loose bandeau top or like a spanks tube thing to help keep things in place with even pressure all over to avoid lines.  :)
