I dont know about anyone else but I thought that your title was alluding to something girls that are doing a butterfly release are keeping their butterflies in! That idea doesn’t seem to get many positives around here so you may have a lot of people skipping oer this if OtherS thought the same 🙂

Hmm…things to keep that ‘butterfly’ feeling…..well, I think the big one is going on VACATION every once in a while! Nothing like some time away from home to put the romance back into things! Also, having date nights with just the two of us when we can.

My fiance works in film so his schedule is brutal. When he’s working, we see each other for maybe an hour a day tops and the poor guy is so exhausted, I don’t push for anything but dinner and going to bed so he can get at least 6 hours of sleep. It’s definitely hard to keep the romance going, especially when planning a wedding. Nothing says “sexy time” like fighting with a caterer over the pricing of hors d’oeuvres. Seriously, wedding planning is the biggest buzzkill ever.

Anyway, we text throughout the day, with little things like “I love you” and “Miss you”. And I wait for the weekends. Those are always amazing, just the chance to physically spend time together always puts the romance back into the relationship

FI and I also work opposite shifts, some days we don’t see each other at all and other days we see each other for an hour.  I thankfully have some flexibility in my schedule so when I can I schedule my days off around hers.  I try to come up with romantic date nights, even if it’s just dinner at a restaurant we’ve never been too.  This week we both ended up with the weekend off, so I decided to get a hotel room in San Diego and take her for a quick weekend getaway.  Tonight I just bought tickets for a Cirque Du Soleil show that is in town next week.  We don’t have a lot of time together so I try to make what time we do have special. It’s so easy to get stuck in a rut so I try my best to break it!

FI isn’t as good at planning romantic things, but she likes to surprise me with little gifts.  Sometimes she’ll pick me up a breakfast burrito from my favorite place on her way home and wake me up to breakfast in bed. Or I’ll come home from work to find a gift left on my couch.

Mr. T lives two hours away and only visits on weekends. I’m bitchy and work and wedding planning make me bitchier, so it’s hard sometimes. We have date night every weekend and last saturday we visited the spot here he proposed, it was so romantic.

I must say, he living away gets me all excited when I finally get to see him, let’s hope we can still keep that spark once we move in together.

For us, the best time for us to “reignite the spark” is weekend mornings. It’s so nice to roll over and see each other, even with our bedhead and me feeling not so pretty with no makeup. We wake up around 7 and just lay together talking and cuddling. It’s lovely!

I totally agree with those of y’all who say wedding planning is a buzzkill- it really is! So strange how something so big and important can bring things down lol!
