I love it! I've been toying with the idea but I think it might look too folksy since my FI and the dads are all wearing tuxes.
I think these hairstyles are beautiful and would compliment the setting of your wedding and your dress! Have you done a hair trial yet?
It's going to be DIY hair, so I've been doing lots of hair trials but having trouble getting enough volume in the rest of the hair once I have a braid in ... Any master stylists out there with advice? I have long, fine hair. It's not thin, but it doesn't have a lot of volume.
They're beautiful, and sound like they'd be perfect for your wedding!
I think they are precious!! you should totally go with the braided style if you like it. I think it would compliment your wedding setting also.
I think I just saved the photos of YOU for inspiration because it looks fantastic. I think it's perfect for your wedding!
Before I got my hair cut and it was super long I was going to get mine done like the Jessica Alba pic. If you do get your hair like one of these please show pics!! Now im wearing my hair short and down! :)
I would suggest curling your hair with a straitener. I know, it sounds crazy, but it's a great way to make curls last with your hair type. As far as volume goes, TEASE. I mean, tease lower parts of yuor bun, or whatever your doing for that part, and sort of layer over the teased part with the smoother part of your hair. You can always consider adding some clip-in hair peices (nice, quality ones; not the ones from Claires) to add extra volume if teasing doesn't do it. Hope this helps! :)
That's such a cute hairstyle for the wedding your having!! Very whimsical!
I love this look! I tried to do it myself the other morning, and I looked totally whacked out. Like Britney Spears Whitney Houston whacked out. I think I did my braid too "tight". The key is to get it loose. You look gorgeous though
I looove the first one.
I'm so torn with my hair, I'd like it somewhat down but my hair is so thick I'll be miserable with it down. And that first style would be amazing and completely off the neck lol.
I like this look too! I've been thinking whimsy and organic and incorporating loose braids in my long curly locks is probably the way I'm going to go.
I love this look, so much! Especially for a casual outdoor wedding like you are having!
cwshreve asked for some final photos. Here's how it came out. I French braided the side of my hair and a friend curled the back into a loose bun. Not exactly like the inspiration photos, but I was very happy with it, and it stayed all night!

I LOVE the braided look!!! I really wanted to do it myself, until my FI told me I do the bangs braided thing all the time anyway, so it won't look any different from my day to day. The first 2 pics are amazing!

What do you all think of these braided updos I found? I'm having a casual outdoor wedding. Vintage dress with a bateau neckline, wearing some kind of hair flower.
