@cardus: My MOH got married in LaX in 2006. She had her wedding at Riverside Park on the stage and her reception at Drugan's. Her rehearsal dinner was in the private room at Piggy's and it was delicious! That might be a good idea for you. We both lived in MSP when she got married so if you are looking for more suggestions there, let me know. :)
Here is a very reasonable classical guitarist in Lacrosse. He has an amazing web site! Oct can be chilly, but with 30 have you thought of one of the dinner cruises on the Riverboats?

items (like the dress, etc) will likely be gotten in the MSP metro, where we will be (he IS, i will be) located, but the tentative plan is for the event to take place in the laX area. just brainstorming ATM...we won't be in a position to book anything for some time yet (likely not till fall or winter), but i wanted to get a headstart on the thinking/ideas part.
does anyone have recommendations? not sure how big of a guest list we're going to have, other than SMALL. like...30 people max. so i don't see us needing better than a rented room at a restaurant for a reception at most (if it's small enough, reservations might be enough). no DJ or any of that. mostly...photographer, flowers, hair stylists/salons, locations, etc. FI has some ideas for locations, as he's a native to the area, but the more ideas the better. we'd like to do it outdoors, which means someplace with a pavilion or something, in case of rain. possibly a classical guitarist or two for the ceremony...
ideas?
