I’m 35 weeks pregnant and been having braxton hicks since 25 weeks. They are getting more and more frequent but lately (like the last week) some of them have been borderline painful and kind of low. I know I’m not in labor, but is this a sign I might be making progress?
I go get a ob and progress check on Monday, but just curious if I can expect to be told I’m dialated some. (crossing fingers!)
This may be a dumb question, but this is my first and I’m pretty clueless!

@fallfarmbride10: I am not sure. I am almost 32 weeks (Sunday) and I just had a dr.s visit today. I asked him about that because I tend to feel ‘heavy’ down there and pressure. Sometimes I get abdominal cramping but it goes away. My doctor said that there is a 5-1-1 rule to follow as you get closer. If you have 5 contractions, every minute for an hour then you are in labor. Also, he said if it happens every ten mins. to call as well because it could be the start. He did say Braxton Hicks were normal though. And obviously if your water breaks that would be a sign. Let us know what they say on Monday, I am interested to find out!

@MacFaniam24: 5 contractions a minute for an hour? that seems like a lot. That would be one every 20 seconds. That statement doesn’t make sense.

I think it depends. I have had BH several times an hour almost every day for a week. When I had my check yesterday, I had not even started to dialate. = ( So it might just depend on your body.
