I’ve not honeymooned in Brazil but traveled there a few times. You will have no shortage of exotic, romantic, exciting and relaxing things to do, no matter which city you end up in!

I would most definitely recommend taking the time between now and the honeymoon to learn some Portugese.  Like many other countries, Brazil has its share of bad guys who haunt the major tourist destinations, and the easiest way to identify yourself as a tourist is by not knowing even the most basic words.  If you go further away from the touristy areas, it gets harder to find someone who speaks English at all.  Your trip will be a lot more enjoyable and a lot less stressing if you spend a little time now with the Rosetta Stone software or some other language-learning tool.  Trust me— no matter what country you’re in, you do not want to be the one whipping the translation book out of your purse and fumbling over how to ask for directions!
