Have you attempted any other at home waxing with different areas? I would start with your legs or something first before messing with that area.
... Is that physically possible? I've only had a brazilian once, but I don't think I could manuever to reach all of those places. It was definitely a two person job, lol.
Back in the day i used to be a competitive swimmer, and used Sally Hansen for my bikini parts, and under arms. There is cream to put on after, definitely USE it. As for doing your own Brazilian ... good luck!!
I've done eyebrows before... but that's about it. I know it might be a bit ambitious, but I'd at least like some input before I dive on in!
That being said, I know there are kits out there... so it must be something people do somewhere, somehow!
I DIY wax all the time, maybe not full on brazilian, I like to leave a tiny bit. A hand mirror definetly helps. I have a wax pot that I just put on the stove to heat up, I'm not sure what brand it is tho. the wax is green and you just pull the wax off, no strips needed.
i do it all the time!
all of sally hansen's kits are pretty good. make sure you get real, microwaveable wax and not just wax strips though. the strips do nothign for me.
make sure your wax is not too hot -- SO important. you'll probably have to microwave it a few times -- wax a little, microwave, wax a little, microwave, etc. test it on the inside of your wrist like you would a baby's bottle.
it's easiest for me while i'm laying down. put a towel down under you, because it gets messy. there will be a lot of strings of wax going everywhere until you get a hang of the wand, so some extra towels around you would be a good thing too.
i would never in a million years give myself a brazillian wax and i have been getting them for years. and i have also waxed my legs, underarms, and bikini line myself...but brazillian, nope, not gonna happen.
however, the person that used to wax me for years (i moved recently) told me she does it to herself. but she is a professional...
Hmm. I don't really think full brazilian is something that I can maneuver, now that I am considering the angles, etc... Maybe I should just try and budget the monthy bill!
@inexplicablecomfort:it's really not that hard to get all the angles yourself. it just takes a little practice and a little flexibility. the only area i can't reach that a professional can is my asscrack.
I love brazillian waxes, however, I don't have the b*lls to do it myself! :S *Yikes!!*
@kitzy I don't have super great expectations for my first attempt, but I think I might at least start small, try it and see how it goes! Thanks for assuring me that it CAN be done!
I tried...more then once...huge mistake...each time.
I also don't mind getting them, I really don't think they're that painful when someone else is doing it. It was excruciating to do it myself for whatever reason, and wax gets everywhere, and it isn't as clean of a job as the pros.
I DO NOT recommend DIY brazilians.
I used to do it myself with this stuff:

Not really the best stuff for full brazilian waxing purposes... but I made do because the strips were easy to deal with and I could get pretty much everything with them. I tried the microwave wax and it was way too messy for me. I couldn't get the hang of putting the wax on with any precision, so I couldn't get in the nooks and crannies with it.
I've kind of given up on waxing down there. DH prefers everything bare but doesn't really care that much. I should start up again before summer rolls around. I'd like to try getting a pro wax to see how much less painful it is.
I have gotten it done twice professionally, and you could definately tell that one waxer was more experienced than the other, so much more painful! I am in pain reading this post...I would NOT do it myself.
I do it all the time! It does take a considerable amount of time though. I use SurgiWax brazillian wax kit. I've used the Sally Hansen Kit and just prefer the Surgiwax one.
I just did one the other day. The pain doesn't bother me at all, but I think I'm just lacking any skill/cordination required... End result, I'm smooth, but I ruined my bathroom rug after kicking over the pot of wax.
I used Gigi Wax from sally beauty and it seemed to work really well for me. I've also used an epillator, but that never gets very far because I find the pain to be much worse.
I say you may as well give it a try. I'd start with the general bikini area and just move in closer as you feel comfortable.
I just did it a few weeks ago before I went on vacation. I've tried it once before and it was AWFUL. I got one strip of wax on there and it got stuck and it was horrible and painful. However, glutton for punishment, I didn't have the $ to shell out and get it done, so I thought I'd try again. SUCCESS! I used rose MOOM and would never use anything else. I sat on the very edge of my bed and put a big mirror in front of me. It actually was not that painful, and I had no skin reaction afterwards. A bit of redness for a few hours, and then totally smooth. It truely only stuck to the hair and not the skin. I would highly recommend it and will definitely do it again.
I made that mistake ONCE and it was my bikini area. NEVER. EVER. Did I say ever, again.
I used to do my own on a regular basis but then they stopped making the wax I used. It was a hot to solid wax from Nair and it was awesome. I've just seen one from Jolen that looks similar so I may give it another go.
It took me AGES, but it saved me so much money.
Hm. I've never had a brazillian at all, but i've been thinking about getting one for my honeymoon. Sounds like you ladies all like them - or at least the results.
Any tips about timing, etc? I don't want to do it the day before the wedding, but I don't want stubble either. How long does it last?I'm thinking maybe I should try it out a few months before and see if it's worth it...
Sorry to hijack the thread - but any input would be awesome.

I know it's not for everyone... but I'll be the first to admit that I really love getting a brazilian wax. The pain doesn't bother me too much and the pay off is so worth it. Shaving irritates my skin and the growing back is such a pain, so I stay away from that. If I could afford a brazilian every month, I definitely would. But I can't... so I've been considering the do it yourself option and looking into purchasing an at home kit.
Has anyone attempted this at home before? Can you recommend a good kit or product? Is there a method to removal that keeps pain down? What about for sensitive skin? Any tips or advice for at home bikini/brazilian waxing would be great!
Thanks in advance, ladies! Happy Friday! :)
