I was wondering if anyone has had the Brazilian keratin treatment done. I heard that it's better than Japanese straightening because you can wear your natural curl or you can wear your hair pin straight. I'm not sure if I'm convinced. Let me know what your opinion is!
I had it done back in June and I absolutely LOVE it. I'm actually getting it done again at the end of this month, and then right before my November wedding. I have ridiculously curly hair and the treatment makes it pin straight (and frizz free) when I want it to be, and curly when I don't. Make sure you find someone who has a lot of experience. I just moved from FL to the midwest and I go back down to the sunshine state to get it done. My old salon does 2-3 of them a day, so they're pros. They also charge less than the salons up here. And listen to the stuff they tell you not to do right after the treatment! You can't wash your hair for 4 days afterward and when you finally do, you need to use sulfate free shampoo. Totally worth it though. It gets better with each treatment you do.
I used to do the Japanese straightening but I recently tried the Brazilian Keratin treatment and it was amazing. It won't make your hair bone straight like the Japanese treatment will, but it eliminates all frizz so that whether you wear your hair curly, wavy, or straight, it looks great. It cut my styling time in half (I usually flat iron my hair for about 20 minutes but with the Brazilian Keratin, I barely needed to do it at all after blow drying). It also made my hair so silky and soft, as opposed to the Japanese straightening, which killed it. I am having the treatment done again before my wedding. I highly recommend it! I don't know where you're located, but if you happen to be in Southern California, I've got a great stylist who does it.
