So Hive I have a question!! My face has been breaking out since the makeup trial and has been very sensitive ever since. So I think Im going to do my own makeup but I went to the store the other day and had no clue what I was looking at and what to get!

What are the best makeup products out there ladies? Something light, that wont be cakey on my face.

And what kind of lip gloss that is not sticky but has a nice shine to it.

And what kind of eye shadow?

    Thanks HIVE!

Clinique is one of  the best for skin products. Lancome and YSL have great eye products. In terms of what exactly to get, I would talk to the ladies at the department store makeup counters and try a few different looks before deciding. I think an expert's opinion is a must for your wedding, and we can't help you from here without actually seeing you! Good luck!

PS The cheaper makeup brands don't last throughout the night, so I would not recommend these for your wedding. You're going to be all over the place, potentially tearing up a few times, etc, so you want good quality makeup.

If you're looking for cosmetics that look great for photography and feels very light as well here are some recommendations:

    Face:

Make Up Forever HD Foundation (for dry skin)-- gives more of a fresh and dewy look. Doesn't look as great with oiy skin tone.

Make Up Forever Mat Velvet Foundation (for oily skin) -- gives a matte finish to the skin.

Or you can purchase both and mix them accordingly to your desires. They have various foundation shades to help match your coloring.

Concealer:  Kevyn Aucion has a great Sensual Concealer, other than that Make Up Forever Lift Concealer/Full Cover concealers are great strong and light weight concealers to cover up the trouble spots.

    Eyes

Here are a list of shadows that I love using for bridal work.  Long lasting and photographs very well.

MAC in Mulch, Kid, Vanilla, Shroom, Espresso, Carbon (Matte Black) for shading

    Smashbox in Champagne

    These shadows are neutral tones//browns

Liner: For lids I use a liquid pen from K-Palette, it's an amazing Japanese brand that is called the "24 Hour Tattoo" and surprisingly it stays on ALL day without budging.  For the lower lids I highly recommend Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes (waterproof)

Brows: Smashbox Brow Tech or MAC brow pencils (Lingering tends to be a good color that is relatively universal).

Lip Gloss Hands down Lancome Juicy Tubes are great.  Smells awesome as well!

Would like to go lighter on the eyes...more pink less brown looking and softer on the skin.

    Thanks ladies!

Origins makes a lot of good make up that is light but covers up well. Clinique is one of my favs so is Philosophy's new make up line!

@Schhuor...all the ladies on the before and after on your site look so beautiful and all their makeup looks so soft and not cakey like I felt mine was. Nice work. Wish I lived in LA sometimes!

I think your foundation color is off a bit. It looks a tad too dark and cool to me. Look at the difference between your face and neck. Your face looks more red, while your neck looks a bit more yellow. You want to match your face to your neck for photos. Your eyes look really pretty. Other than that, maybe a tad bit more blush. Overall, it's a very natural, pretty look.
