I am in a fit to finish up three weeks of work all crammed into one week and I think the stress is killing my skin.
We are one week away from our wedding day, plus a cross over the international time line, so it "seems" like a week and one day, but it’s not.
I’ve been sticking to my cleansing program and I even stopped running so much so that the areas that flare up under my sports bra won’t be a problem. This is to say that my back is clear. But I am getting weird little lumps on my neck, they are little, no whiteheads or anything painful like a cyst just a few little lumps that I fear will turn into insane blemishes.
Anyone else having last moment freakout?
I am trying to remain calm about this, saying to myself things like "you have someone doing your make-up, she can cover it, or FH loves me, he doesn’t care about a breakout, or seriously, it is just a lump and I have whole week…drink more water, be more careful about exfoliation, relax"
what are you do get yourself through this last week?

omg me too!!! i’ve been lathering on the creams and trying to be really careful about what i’m eating and drinking. its so frustrating though because my skin has been awesome up until like a week ago and i’ve been breaking out like crazy in places i NEVER break out. (back, chest, even one right under my nostril ouch!)

I hate to suggest this as I know there are future health risks… But going to the tanning bed generally clears my skin up. I’m not talking like get baked or burnt or anything. But your skin may appreciate a little dose of vitamin D & clear up. Just once or twice for under 10 minutes might help out. Everyones skin is different though, good luck!

FloridaMel and snoopnaz23 thanks for the input.
FloridaMel, I am seriously considering driving into town for tanning as it does help. I don’t go long, just a little blast to "dry" up a few blemishes. I just worry because I am already more tan from running outside and cycling and a few trips to the tanning bed whereas the FH is Arab but works inside all day and is actually more pale than me!
However, it can’t be that bad to look a little more tan than him in photos, right?

tanning is a great idea! i think i’m actually going to go do that after i post this! i’m gonna be a little more tan than my fiance and as long as you’re not orange or overly fake tanned i don’t think it will be an issue! just be careful not to get burned, cuz the white dress will accentuate everything!

I’m getting more breakouts on my chest! Grrrrr.
I do notice my skin has gotten slightly worse since i haven’t been tanning in 2 weeks. I’m going tonight….i hate tanning. it does help though.

First of all, if you take an antibiotic, it will clear you right up for your big day. The anti-bacterial properties really combat breakouts.
Can you go to the dermatologist? They can give you an injection of cortisone which will get rid of your pimple that day.
Also, have you tried a clay mask? You can put that on the problem areas to help with redness and inflamation.
You know what is a wonderful spot reducer? Green tea!!! Seriously. Just take a tea bag, pour about a tablespoon of water onto a little bowl, and heat it up with the teabag. Place the warm bag on your pimple and it will help it go down.

Try drinking green tea. It really helps to calm me down and helps to eliminate antioxidants and helps reduce my acne.

Thanks for the tips. I have been the derm for spot reduction before however, I have 30 + of travel before the big day and will be in Australia to top it all off. Airplane air is so bad for the skin, I try to wash and moisturize midflights.
I have decided to be really diligent with the skin care, this means two showers a day with proactive and keeping my hair off my skin, completely as I think the problem could be related to my conditioner and my hair touching my neck.
I will try drinking more green tea. I also plan a few short burse of UV rays to dry out any remaining problems.
I’ve just been so diligent with the microdermabrasion and moisturizing and the washing…I can’t believe just a week before we are having breakouts.
I also think I boost my zinc intake…I don’t normally take it separate but it does or so they say, helps in the healing process.
I also remind myself I have someone doing my make-up and that the FH doesn’t care about a blemish or two, he has seen them before.

Hmm in regards to the lumps on your neck – I dont think they’re blemish related to be honest. When I am stressed, I tend to get these lumps at the sides of my neck (right down below the ear line) and I have been to a doctor about it and its just sress etc. So maybe that is all these ‘cysts’ are with all your work stress and the excitement of a wedding coming up.
as for the breakouts, I agree with mrshymanroth about usuing a clay mask, it definetly helps with oil production that can cause the breakouts.
Your idea with the zinc is very great as well. Maybe try some Omega-3, I love flax seeds in my food and its a great source of the omega-3, try it freshly ground into some yogurt, or some baking! mmm
One thing to keep in mind is DO NOT over dry your skin, or freak out and try to ‘pver process’ everything you’re doing to make it go away, ultimatly it can cause it to get worse and flare up more!
in regards to you saying this "I’ve just been so diligent with the microdermabrasion and moisturizing and the washing…I can’t believe just a week before we are having breakouts." just know you may be doing everything text book to keep your skin clear, but being stressed out/hormones could be the biggest factor in all of this!
good luck mizuno!
