Oh dear, this is kind of embarrassing to post!
My Fiance and I are getting married in about 2 weeks and going on a honeymoon in late June. It’s a resort in Hawaii that offers massages. I’d love to get one, but I’ve been breaking out on my back. Somedays worse than others, but it’s pretty constant. I’m not like COVERED in acne, but it’ll be obvious to the masseuse. I can’t seem to find a solution for it. My back will be covered at the wedding for this reason.
Anyways, is it terrible that I want to schedule a massage on my honeymoon, even if I know I’ll probably be broken out? My back wants some love too, but I don’t want to offend anyone either :(. I don’t know the massage ettiquette for this.
Now that I’ve put that out on the internet, I’m going to go hide under a rock.

I get breakouts on my back, more like little red bumps in patches and I’ve had a massage. I figured that they have seen SO MUCH WORSE. As long as nothing is oozing or bloody (ok sorry!) I would say it’s alright. If I am in Hawaii and I can get a massage, nothing, not even a pimple, will keep me away!

I’d say do it. Forget about your back and do something pampering.. I agree, they’ve probably seen it all and I bet yours is worse to you than to anyone else. (I occasionally suffer with backne as well)
What helps me is letting it breathe (during the summer I’ll wear halters or something that exposes my back to the sun and air when I can, getting a good acne body exfoliant (neutrogena sells GREAT orange body scrub/spray for acne like this) and sticking to a routine daily. I try to scrub my back with some kind of acne scrub every night if I can. In the long-run, it really helps.
What an amazing honeymoon idea… have to admit I’m jealous 😉 Have fun.

@SimplyChic11: I’ve been using neutrogena’s body clear body wash every other day. I can’t shower everyday otherwise my skin gets dry and breaks out everywhere. Moisturizers don’t help with this either. My skin is ridiculous. Seriously. I don’t know of any spray though, so I’ll keep an eye out for that! Anything that I don’t have to wash off would be best, I guess.
@PeaceLoveLaughter: Thank you so much!
Whew. I’m glad I’m not super selfish for wanting a massage. That was sort of my biggest fear. I didn’t know if there was some unwritten rule I was going to be violating. I’m a bit self conscious about this, can you tell? lol.
I’m really excited about the trip, even more so now!
