I don’t have Blue Shield, but I had to physically call the number on the back of my insurance card and talk to them.  Honestly, I had to call like 3-4 times to get all the info I neededbecause every person I talked to told me something different, but it was totally worth it to get a free pump!

I have Anthem Blue Cross and I called the number on my card and they gave me the name of two medical supply companies that I could order from: Byram Healthcare and Edgepark and each company has a select few you can choose from.  You could check out their websites and see if they work with Blue Shield California, but your best bet is to keep trying to talk to someone on the phone.  It’s a great thing that they’re required to provide pumps to us, but they certainly don’t make it easy.

I ordered mine a few weeks before my due date (I could only order 30 days in advance), and I had my baby last weekend and have had to call the company twice to find out what is going on with my order.

If you don’t want to call and speak to you insurance, you can try Aeroflow.  You can apply, and they will let you know if what your insurance covers and how much it pays.  They also don’t make you wait 30 days before your EDD before you order it, and have the best selection of pumps I found.  The only downfall is that they do make you pay shipping.

I dont have your insurance but I just called mine and they gave me two medical supply companies.  I called and they told me everything I needed to know, like when I could get it and which pump it was.  You probably just need a prescription from your doctor, I had to send that in to the medical company within 60 days of my due date and it arrived a few days later.  It was pretty easy for me.

Just make sure youre calling the right number, as silly as that sounds…  I always get through right away to a live person with the correct number but I accidentally called a different number of theirs one day for potential customers and I was on hold forever.
