Tomorrow morning my husband and I will be taking our daughter on an overnight trip. It is our 1  year anniversary!! and she will be 2 months tomorrow as well :) She is strictly breastfed (we did supplement with formula the first week due to breastfeeding issues as many of you know) and hasn't taken bottles since she was supplemented since we had such a hard time with breastfeeding for the first month +. I am not worried about her taking bottles, I'm worried she'll remember how much less work it was and want only that :X Breastfeeding is now going well! We have breastfed in fitting rooms, at other peoples homes without the pillows and in the back of the car while out and about. I will be nursing her when we are in the hotel and taking a nursing cover so that I can breastfeed her tomorrow before we can check into the hotel (we will be arriving around 9a.m and unable to check in until 3 but early check in is possible just not for sure) but have been thinking I might pack some frozen breastmilk. How do you ladies go about taking breastmilk on overnights? How long will it keep frozen in the cooler? Any advice at all on an overnight with a breastfed baby would be awesome. I will not have a fridge in the room :(

    thanks!

Happy anniversary, Sulli!! WE went on our first 2 night overnight trip last week for our baby's 5 month birthday and I didn't bring any bottles, pump or anything. I just hoped for the best and mentally figured out where the closest grocery store was in case of formula emergency. Everything went fine with breastfeeding. I overpacked on bringing the baby gym but that was pretty much it.

@Sulli301:  I just pump when we're on vacation.  Because I'm lazy and don't want to carry more crap, I just take a hand pump.  Without a fridge in the room, pumping fresh and having her drink it right away seems good.  If there's a little leftover you can always use the ice bucket for a few hours.  I always bring my insulated pumping bag with 2 icepacks in it too.

And don't worry about nipple confusion.  It's not gonna happen at this point.

Thank you both. The trip went GREAT! I was so proud of her (and me) :) And we ended up getting upgraded to a top floor suite and so we had a kitchenette and a fridge!
