Hey Bees. I have a question. I am not do for my period for another two weeks but the sides of both my breasts are really sore. It happened sporatically half way through the day today. What could be causing this? Is this normal?

I’ve had this happen before for a couple of days, I never have known why and just kind of wrote it off. Breast tenderness can be a sign of pregnancy, but that alone wouldn’t really raise a red flag for me.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help! It will probably go away on it’s own.

probably just hormones in your cycle changing. Happens all the time to me!

That can happen at different times of the month, including ovulation (aka two weeks before your period) and as part of PMS. I get sore roughly three days before I get my period and they don’t bother me at any other time. Crazy hormones. Any time they spike, the soreness could happen.

Pain on its own can be nothing but keep an eye on any other unusual changes in your breasts. If there is any sign of redness, swelling or change in the appearance of the skin then you need to get to a breast specialist straight away. This happened to my mother and she was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer which can affect women at any age and is very aggressive. With IBC there is no lump, the cancer just filters through the lymph system.
In saying that, hope it is just hormones!

This may be a totally dumb answer, but sometimes I think I get this problem from my bra being too tight. This will only happen once a month, and I think it’s from pms & my breasts being swollen.
Of course the usual anwers are: pregnancy & pms.
