NIIIIIICE lol
You know what, 50? I took Calc I-III and I still struggle with things like geometry and basic algebra. It's ridiculous how often I need to bust out a calculator for basic math, yet I can crank out a derivation....sad.
but yes, converting a cake recipe DOES sound like an easy homework assignment LOL =]
Lol. It just shocked me. :p
@EJS- Yeah, it's like stuff we haven't done since middle school pre-algebra. lol.
This problem was to find the ingredients if the woman had a recipe for 3 9 inch cake pans, but she had 10 inch cake pans and wanted the cakes the same height. I say homegirl is a little to concerned with the height of her cake. :p
hahaha...um, how about "bake them anyways, then slice off the tops to make them even" or "add more frosting to even out the cakes" buah ha ha.
Or:
"there are too many variations regarding the distribution of heat in an oven, used continually to bake 3 different cakes. The pressure of the surrounding air, thermal conductivity of said oven, and the minor differences regarding quantities of ingredients (unless perfectly weighed out on a calibrated scale) render this problem unsolvable."
Throw in words like enthalpy, heat sink, and specific heat capacity just to screw with them.
Sometimes if you're creative enough you get points, lol
Lolol. it's roughly a 1.25 ratio, so i just multiplied all the stuff by 1.25.
That would be amazing though. Maybe some surface tension, etc. Also, the cake recipe sounds really blow. It's a "4 egg cake." Except now it's a .... 5 egg. lol
I have a 100 in the class, and some of the other ... ones... have like max a 65.
Gah EJS, you really just made my brain hurt with all of those...words. Lol, I'm clearly not a math person.
50, I do stuff like that all the time! Not math-related, of course. Bridal Brain is a dangerous thing!
I'm pretty sure I have a BS in engineering and not the Bachelors of Science kind =]
I usually use 1 and 1/2 cups of wedding in my cake recipes-- I find it makes them a bit fluffier, and they bake more evenly.
Haha, that is hilarious!! I guess we know whats on your mind!!
@jhphi- Lololololol!
@hcrit- A few months of agony and stress? :p

This morning I was finishing my (stupid) problem solving homework. (It's some dumb core class that everybody has to take... Hello, I took Calc 1 and 2 at MIT, got a B in Calc 1 and an A in Calc 2. This class is like simple algebra...Anyway).
So, I was writing down the info that we had to convert, and look what I wrote...
1 cup wedding? WTH. I'm officially Bridal-Brained-Out.
Oh my oh my. I quickly erased that, but I had to take a cell phone pic first to document the... awesome.
