What wedding item(s) did you buy but changed your mind about so you didn't use it, then had to eat the cost of and never told your FI about?

Or what wedding item(s) have you bought in multiples so you could see various styles of it before you purchased your final item and again, didn't tell your FI about?

Although FI knows about this (wish he didn't), initially I was trying my best to be a thrify bride so I bought a super cute wedding dress online.  After it arrived I decided that I really didn't like the quality of it.  So I bought another dress, this time from a "real" store.  Lesson learned.

And as an encore bride, in my first marriage I bought two sets (25 of each) of invites, one with black ink and one with green ink and then after that I officially bought another set (in the black ink).  Because for the "sample" ones I just put down whatever wording so it wasn't like I could use the first set of black ones  :)  Never told the ex hub about that one, lol

So Brides... what did you buy?!

DH pretty much knows about my Oopes, he had to look at them all over the house all the time.  I did buy 100 paper lanterns from the dollar tree that we didn't get to use, the venue told us we could hang them from the ceiling then they changed their minds several months later.  I waited a few months before I broke the news on that one, he was really pissed at the venue.  Thank goodness I waited till really late at night so he couldn't pick up the phone and call them.

I overbought a few things, but mostly just craft supplies that I've since used up for other projects.  I bought WAY more paper than I needed for our DIY invites, thinking I'd use the same for menus, programs etc and did, but it still didn't use it all up.  Luckily the 1000 pack was only about twice the price of the 100 pack, so it was still a "savings".

Umm... a couple stamps that I thought I'd use and didn't, but he knew about most stuff.
