    Hi all,

I am looking at bridal jewelry and I love the long, pretty chandelier style earrings that many brides wear.  But I have very sensitive ears and I can't even wear sterling silver - only gold.

Does anyone know if Ben Amun uses gold for his earrings, or just silver?

Or does anyone know of a resource that I could go to for earrings that won't make my ears red, itchy and inflamed on my big day?

Sounds like you have an allergy to nickel... I can't wear any metals except titanium, platinum, and surgical steel, but I can wear stuff from Simply Whispers.  You can buy hooks and change them out so you can wear any earrings you want: http://simplywhispers.stores.yahoo.net/earreplacables1.html

I have really sensitive ears, too, but I got a lifesaving tip from my sister. Try this with your regular earrings for a while and see if maybe it will help you too: dip the posts of your earrings into antibacterial cream (like Neosporin) every time you put them into your ears. I've been doing this for about a year now and it's worked wonders for me. Good luck!

Even the neosporin doesn't work for me.  But I have no problem wearing rhodium plated wires or posts.  A lot of the nicer CZ and Swarovski crystal jewelry is rhodium plated.  I don't know about the designer you listed, but why don't you email his website and ask?

Ah yes, I forgot about rhodium plating.  I've heard that it was hypoallergenic too, but I never tried it because I didn't want to have to replate.

Earrings have actually been the easiest for me, because it's only the hook/post that matters, unlike pretty necklaces that I covet =/

I have the same problem.  I have a jeweler that replaces my posts for me when I don't buy yellow gold jewelry.  Gold isn't all that expensive and it is well worth it not to have itchy red earlobes!
