I have always loved Pachebel’s Canon in D so that’s what I am planning using for my walk down.  We plan on having a trio: piano, violin, and cello.

If I had all the money in the world, I would pay Joshua Radin to play acoustic guitar and play “Today” for me.  But alas, we have a wedding budget to stick to!  I would use a recording of it but I just don’t think it would have the same feel as being sung live.  He sang this at Ellen Degeneres’s wedding.  If you haven’t heard it, check it out online.  Beautiful song!

I’m sorry but I’m not sure it’s really your pianists job to tell you what songs you should have for your entrance! I’d be telling them to keep their opinion to themselves! I hope you use the song how you want because I don’t think you should have to compromise your original vision because someone tells you otherwise! Go with what you want! I’m walking down the aisle to “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys and I know some people don’t think its appropriate because of the lyrics but I’m doin’ it anyway!!! LOL Goodluck!
