@xoxo_712:  I went to a bridal fair today as well!

was definitely fun, gave me lots of ideas and I won a free round of golf for two with a cart rental which apparently worth $200.. Not that I know how to golf or anything but hey, I like free stuff!

That’s so awesome, congrats! I was at a bridal fair today too and I’m STILL buzzing! Found some GREAT vendors that I didn’t know we’re around.

@xoxo_712:  We went to one at our venue (its a resort).  It was so helpful.  We met with vendors who know the venue really well.  And they’re all local.  We could have found vendors in Toronto and had them drive out, but these people are right in the area and work there all the time.  And their rates are a lot less than in the city.  It’s perfect.

We found our bakery, photographer, hair stylist, make up artist and DOC all at the fair.  Done and done!

I was at the Bridal Fantasy in Alberta about two weekends ago.

Let me say… BLEURGH. This was my first bridal show and will be my last! 🙂 Maybe it must be an Albertan thing. Shrug, mainly because there were a lot of rude brides/bridesmaids cutting in line. (Talk about Princess Complexes, eh?) I, on the other hand, was going alone.

Nonetheless, I got to take a lot of pictures of decor ideas as well as connect with some vendors. Best vendor I found was a mobile/portable photo-booth rental for $350 CAD (or $450 with video capabilities). I also got to catch up a bit with a friend who is corsetier/vendor at the show. 🙂

I also did find a nice freshwater pearl bracelet for my MOH and some eyelashes for myself.

It was definitely interesting interacting with some of the vendors.
I had a budget in mind; most of the important things are done. So, a lot of the things I was looking for were extras.
Almost every vendor asked, “What is your theme?”
(Almost tired of answering the same question after seeing way-out-of-my-budget packages) I replied, “Budget friendly.” Money Mouth

@Cynderbug:  That’s so clever!

I really enjoyed most of the shows I went to. I went to so many and I won a couple of prizes here and there. It was fun just to go and the vendor info ended up being very helpful. I just hate when vendors got pushy and the way most places require you to visit every single one. I always liked the ones that had food, giveaways, and fashion shows. 🙂

@BriansBride:  Yeah, I was surprised to find out that I won a door prize, which entails an attractions pass and some coupon books for the formerly biggest mall, lol. I have yet to contact the organizer, hah.

I let out a huge gasp as I saw an AUTHENTIC Inbal Dror dress on display. $8,000 dress! What a beauty it was!

Yeah, it was funny when dress stores tried to get my attention. 😀 I said, “Sorry, I can’t entertain any chances for me to have dress regrets!”

I *think* I avoided pushy vendors for the most part. I’d be like, “M-hmm. M-hmm. Oh ok.”
Vendor goes, “Here’s a brochure.”
Me: “Nah, I think I’ll pass.” (walks away)
lol! I’m baaaaaaad.

@Cynderbug:  That sounds like fun. I hope there is something good at the mall! I’m happy to win anything. I hate those fake prizes though. “20% off if you book with this vendor” with no one you would ever book. My friend won the door prize at one show. It was a beautiful pearl necklace. She insisted she already had a necklace for her wedding and gave it to me since I didn’t. I could have cried, it was so sweet. I have been very anxious to wear it.
I wish I was better at thinking up things to say like you. One DJ got really rude when I said I couldn’t afford their absurdly expensive package and asked why I bothered to come if I couldn’t afford anything there. UGHH
