Asalamo alaykum! I am a revert and I am getting married in a few months insha Allah. I was wondering what type of hair style did/will you have under your hijab on your wedding day? I only plan on taking it off in the womens room. I am worried about my hair going flat like it usually does when I wear hijab all day. Any suggestions would be helpful. I have never been to a Muslim wedding so do women even take off their scarf in the women only side?

I’m not Muslim, but I do know that a lot of Muslim brides and women wear their hair in buns under the hijab.
In all of the weddings I’ve seen, the bride’s hijab was always on. Of course, there could have been parts of the wedding where they didn’t have them on and I just didn’t see it, but I kind of doubt that’s the case. It’s probably a good idea to keep the hijab on.
Do you have a Mosque around you that you could go to or call to get help? If you don’t I can try to find you some resources.

I only wore the scarf to the religious ceremony in the mosque and I just put it loosely over my hairdo and pinned it (it was covering everything that it should cover).
If the fabric is thick enough it only needs one layer. Ask someone to help you place it carefully on your hair and wrap it around you (no big movements with arms over your head if your hair has been volumised and pinned up…). Test before to make sure you get the fabric position right the first time. 😉
